I look forward to it, see what happens. I never ranked in Yahoo, almost like I am sandboxed:confused:

When you rank well it's not what you want to hear. :) lol

My traffic from Yahoo has slipped considerably as well in the last 3 weeks. What happened? It just dropped all of a sudden.

I was #1 for about a day last week. The day before and the day after I was #15...maybe that was a hint to what spot I'll have after the update? ;)

When you rank well it's not what you want to hear. :) lolAgreed... I've been #1 for 6 months. With an update, it really can't get any better :-)

it is 2:00am PST. I don't think it happened yet. The top 20 are identical in my keywords. And my sites still don't rank even under a search query for the actual name of my site.

I gotta go to bed, hopefully I'll wake up to something better. It certainly can not get any worse.

i think the update is BS

crazyhorse
Jun 21st 2005, 5:20 am
i think the update is bullshit
Why would they mention it on there weblog. If it is bullshit it will make Yahoo's credibility less for webmasters. With there new ppc programm coming out in the near future to compete with Adsense , i dont think yahoo will just post rubish on the internet to fool them.

??/ I dont seem to understand you. Or is that sinical? I dont see the humor.

I had a look here (http://www.ysearchblog.com/) .

The name of the blog is :

A look inside the world of search from the people of Yahoo!

And the article starts with :

This is our second weather report. We will be making changes to the index tonight so you should be seeing more of your pages in the index as well as some fluctuations in the rankings of results from previous searches.

So this articles is about there search index right or am i missing something?

ferret77

ferret77

Yahoo's credibility less for webmasters.

Do you honestly think any of the search engines give a rat behind about webmasters?

There are 3 search engines, two real ppc programs and its either their way or the highway.

There are 3 search engines, two real ppc programs and its either their way or the highway. Yeah i do. Why wouldnt they listen to the people that use their engines? Its like a company not listening to its own clients/employees. Its always interesting to hear what other people have to say. Whether you eventaully think the info will be usefull for you is up to Yahoo or any other search engines. Take the webmaster conference for example? If they wouldnt care less about a webmaster conference why even bother having one?

Maybe because they sell ads to webmasters?

Arn't conferences just big dog and pony shows for selling stuff?

??/ I dont seem to understand you. Or is that sinical? I dont see the humor.

Half and half
There is a proverb that says

"When somebody has nothing to say (even they should in this particular case) then they talk about the weather".

- How true in this case. - No explaination - No action - That's what wer're left with.

I see all my competitor's sites still listed in the Yahoo rankings. Maybe the number of website that are "dropped from Yahoo" are only a few? A few = <1000? Not enough for Yahoo to care what you think since we're only a tiny percentage of the Internet.

Public relations would be my guess and I don't think it was an update last night. I see no changes in my industry and all the competitive industries. Blackhats still dominating the results.

Oh well I just noticed another of my sites is out of googles sandbox with fairly nice rankings. Removed from yahoo and added to google all in the same week.

ferret77

I have a coupe sites do that, disappear from yahoo and then pop out of the google sandbox.

unfortnatly a couple went back in.

I saw no change in any of the keywords I am tracking. Same sites are in the top 10.

SEOGuru
Jun 21st 2005, 10:29 am
no change on any of then 250 keywords I am tracking. Maybe "update" really means they fixed a comment tag in the code or a spelling error. haha

I hope they kept of copy of the old index/algo/whatever because the current one sucks.

Funny stuff. Well last night around 1:30 PST I saw different results for one of the KW's we track. It was a big jump from #62 to #7 for one of our KW's. Five minutes later the results vanished.

All the other KW's that we track have stayed the same. What happen to the update???????????????????????????????

Looks like it is updating right now. Im not sure whether it has completed yet. But i do see regaining of positions. Not as it was before. It looks to me as if this is a old index.

SEOGuru
Jun 21st 2005, 3:06 pm
not sure what you guys are seeing but the rankings on all on my terms have not moved an inch. I'm also still not ranked under the name of my domain, nor is "digitalpoint" or "digital point"

I'm in cali so maybe it is a different datacenter.

I'm in California as well. It's likely the changes haven't propogated to all DCs yet.

I haven't seen any changes in the last month. Yahoo brings so little of my traffic I don't really even care what happens

My listings in yahoo were dropped in one day. I was on the first page for one of my keywords. Just got in the listing that day. In about 10 hours all my listings were gone. I was getting traffic too.
