View Full Version : API never updating

One of the sites I manage is a PR6 w/ over 10,000 pages indexed in Google (per the site: command). However, for the last month the API has shown 0 pages indexed. Strangely enough, this was the first site I added to the co-op -- and the only one that continues to give me problems. :)

Any ideas on ways to get the API updated? This will be a fun site to have rolling in the co-op.

are you talking about it updating in the Keyword Tracker or you manually checked via the API yourself?

Yeah, I am not sure what the schedule is on the updates there. I don't think shawn has it updating very often...to be honest I have never figured out what the update schedule is there. It does not seem as though it is tied to the coop though (IMHO). This is one for the Master of the Universe I think.

Yeah, I really only care for Coop purposes...it is just weird that 0 pages are seen in the API, when it has been at its current level on the "site:" command for over a month -- I'm used to a few day delay, which is why I posted...hopefully it is something simple that I can fix.
The Keyword Tracker only updates the pages in URL when Google updates the number of Back Links via the API (i.e. not that often). The co-op algorithm does not use the same Back Links reading that the tracker displays. I'm pretty sure that is what I've read before but even more sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong :)

Use g-meter (http://www.g-metrics.com/index.php) for daily API update for the COOP
Its not a perfect match for the COOP as sometimes the increases/ decreases do not mate but its not bad to gauge whether to click the val button or not

Neat tool -- that showed 0 as well. A duplication penalty (that's what I think it was) resulted in a loss of all pages about 2 months ago; after fixing the glitch that caused it, they seem to be back, but not in the API. I wonder...does the API respond slower to resolved penalties?

The API is in its own little f'in world as far as I'm concerned.
I get good results out of it for some searches - for others it's complete pants.
I've never yet managed to get any useful results what so ever for a site: search. The numbers I get back are just complete dross.

Too bad the Coop has to use it. :(
It all comes back to my old SEO addage; when in doubt, build more sites!
