Hi Everyone,

My name is Matt and I'm a forum-a-holic.

This is my first day at the meetings. I am hoping to get help for my condition as I am sure that is why the rest of you are here.

Gemini,

I will out to visit you soon! Hpefully the rain will stop in Myrtle Beach a day or two after I get there. Would love a sunny weekend there, but have to admit that the prospect of rain is exciting to me. After all, I do live in the Sonoran Desert. Thanks for the welcome Max!

HodgedUp,

You appear to be the only one who "gets" my humor in this thread. I was starting it like AA meetings start in the movies. I thought I was funny until no one got it. Glad to see you are thinking outside of the box. You'll be well rewarded in life for it. I know I am being rewarded for my styel of thinking!!!

Thanks for all the welcomes so far. :)

One comment I have, and I hope I'm not flamed for it... I have been doing A LOT of reading of past posts here and am finding a lot of "noise". Why can't we all just get along? Anyways, enough of my fantasy world "utopian thinking" and back to reality. Thanks agian for the hello's... feel free to flame now.

Actually, you'll find there are only a dozen or so saddies - and you know them all already, so no need for introductions.

Maybe it's just a southwest kind of thing, or it could be that in my anger management classes we're told to be more observant to others.

Hi SarahK - buuuddddy!

I think it's safe to say barstads. I've never even heard that word before, so you should be cool alright. Good to see more people I know... Sarah, Mike, Max... who else?

HpdgedUp,

I was thinking of the Anger Management movie when I was starting this thread. Too funny. What part of the SW do you live in? I am of course in Phoenix Arizona. North Phoenix though closer to Carefree than downtown.

I think it's safe to say bastads. I've never even heard that word before, so you should be cool alright.I'm not a laugh-out-loud kinda girl, more a smirk quietly type but you got me big time. Mike's in the same boat too - try wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bastards)
A bastard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegitimacy) is an "illegitimate" child.

Bastards can refer to a group of people who have done something displeasing to the general public.

Bastards is the first studio album Motörhead has recorded with their new drummer Mikkey Dee. After their only (and unsuccesful) major label release (the 1992 March or Die, released on WTG), they went back to their roots, being loud and fast. "Born To Raise Hell" was later recorded with Ice T and Whitfield Crane and remains as one of Motörhead's most popular songs to date.but they miss that it's also a drunken term of affection

So is "retahded".

One of my five brothers lives in Boston, and some good friends of mine, Ron and Erica, just moved here from there where things are often wicked retahted.

sarahk
Jun 5th 2005, 3:46 pm
You have five brothers? any sisters? I hope you're really nice to your Mom!

Phoenix Arizona
Jun 5th 2005, 3:59 pm
5 stepbrothers, one blood sister.

Love mum! Super sad when they sold their home here (only 1/4 mile from my home) and moved full time to their "vacation home" on a big lake in Texas with 175' of water frontage, their own dock and boat, etc...

One brother lives right next door, one house over from them and his wife's parents live inbetween my parents and my brother.

Another brother lives in Boston as you have heard. Three here, one in Prescott, one in Tempe and one building a new custom home in Gilbert against the SanTan Mountains. Man is it nice too, he's on five acres abcking the preserve of the mountains so no one can build behind him. Only problem is he works in town, so he's got a lot of driving ahead of him when he moves there from Chandler.

My sister lives in Santa Barbara and has forever. She bought a home of her own many years ago. She is actually stuck in her house (which is really nice) now for life unless she wants to move out of the area. Homes by her are approximately $1,200,000 median, and that buys you junk! Condo's are median priced at $600,000. Suck-o-la! So, she'll have to stay in her current home unless she marry's a millionaire... which isn't much money these days, but enough for a down payment on a home in Santa Barbara!

Phoenix Arizona
Jun 5th 2005, 4:02 pm
I had better get "logged off" and start helping my wife paint. I've been catching up on things at work (in my home office) and now she has started painting our daughter's room, so I better go if I think I'm going to be allowed to go to Myrtle Beach in a week and a half to visit Max without her.

Good chatting so far. I look forward to seeing some more hello's when I return!

Peace.

Pheonix you say, that is on my short list of places that I want to live.

What do you think, is there a market for young Electrical Engineers in Pheonix at the moment?

BTW welcome to DP ;)

Sarah, The problem is: the money only does her good if I can convince her to move out here where a median priced home is only $225,000 or so. She buy her and have money left over. If she ever sells there, she won't be able to buy back in unless she downgrades.

HodgedUp, Texas huh? Land of humming bird sized mosquito's. My parnets now live full time in Jefferson, northeast Texas.

SDawg, "Hi SDawg!!" Group: everyone say "Hi SDawg!"

WWHHomes, Zez, SadCox66: thank you for the welcomes!!!

AzAkers, these are my "taverns" for sure. Right back at'cha fellow Phoenician.

Capebretoner, I lived here since 1978 and wouldn't move out of this area unless I had the money for a second home. Lots of good jobs here. I think our unemployment is one of the lowest in the country. AMKOR, is setting up shop here soon...

And the best new "hello" for last...
TradeFor, Are you who I think you are? I know a guy here in Cave Creek who likes his Camry. Let me know...

Local Phoenix chapter? Sure why not! Can you imagine how quickly it would grow considering we are all about to be sentenced to 3 months hard time indoors?

Welcome to DP, Matt.

I'm an ex-Phoenician, well Tempean(?), myself.
I miss that nice, dry heat.

I use to mountain bike year-round when I lived there and I had some terrific "visions" when I ventured out in the middle of summer. Nothing like being on the verge of passing out from heat stroke. Ah, good times, good times.

Cheers.

jesus man I would think you are from france or quebec city if you say something like kids should not play with such and excellent language and that they should learn it properly or not use it at all.

No, my friend Max did. I was almost on the floor laughing. I think I had them believing that I knew French and Russian. LMAO

I even took it further and was saying I had a big IQ and stuff... then I had to jump in and end it along with Max. I don't want to make anyone mad on my first thread... 9 pages later.

Thanks for your help in making the joke seem so real. I think we really had them going there for awhile Joc.

I'm not sure if you read the whole thing, but after you helped me iwth the French, the site owner Shawn steped in and siad hello and welcome in Russian. I recognized it right away and called my buddy Max since he speaks and writes it fluently.

Boy I had fun with that! Thanks again Joc, and Max.
