removal vs deletion

In email accounts, what is the purpose of "removal" vs just deleting it?

Apparently, executing removal by clicking Server in the Removal window, removes it from the server but leaves it in OptiGold?

Clicking completed, leaves it in OptiGold doing nothing else?

Clicking the trashcan will mark it for deletion from OptiGold?

Am I missing a documentation manual or these type of things just are not documented?

Oh, complete deletion of an email account is a two step process!
First Removal, removes it from the server and then deletion ONLY deletes it from OptiGold.

Why aren't these type of things documented? It is difficult and could be COSTLY to get it by trial and error!
