Why do people always check my whois?

Everytime I reg a new domain, I instantly see 2 or 3 hits from a whois site. Usually it comes from whois.sc

Even on my old domains, I get 2 or 3 per month. Is it some kind of auto checking thing or what? I don't really care, just seems kind of weird....
