Hello,
I have a myspace related websites which now gets around 300 clicks daily.. But the revenue is sooooo low.. like under $10.. Is there anything i can do to raise the revenue? Somekind of keywords optimazation or whatever?
Any suggestion would make me happy =)
Thanks!

I think myspace related sites produce generally low paying clicks. For 10% of your clicks, I have had similar revenue.

IMO, you have 2 options:
1) If you know how to get traffic for 300 clicks, work to increase traffic.
2) Using your knowledge of getting your current site to this level, create a new site with higher paying keywords.

Good luck with it

I found that one ad on my site was earning over 10x what the other ads were making. That happened to be the pages with the most unique content that were earning that much.

Look in to developing unique content, and a lot of it, and see if you can get a raise in CPC in under a week.

ill say go for option 2 and also keep working on option 1 in the background . Generally , myspace related keywords pay less :o , 300clicks should get some $$ so work on better keyword .

I used to have 500 clicks per day and made $5. I made exactly 1 cent per click. After I filtered all the MFA sites I now make liek 5 cents per click hehe, and I'm not complaining.

First of all, without clicking your ads, go to the sites that are advertising on yours. Look at the url, and type it in.
You will probably find one or two that are obviously MFA (more ads than content.) Make a list of all these crappy sites, and then log into adsense.
Go to AAdsense setup, then competative ad filter. Enter the MFA site urls into the box, hit save changes, and your done. It takes a day or so for this change to take effect, but after they have, you should notice a higher cost per click

Yes for now most of the traffic comes from advertising and link exchanges.. also typeins and direct links on myspace..

Any idea how long it will take to filter out urls at adsense? I submitted alot of urls for like 2 hours ago but still seing them.

It takes a day or so for the changes to take place . 300 clicks from le / myspace / advrtising is good . Hopefully , you will soon be having the SE traffic :) :)

Well, you really cannot force your visitors to click any of the ads and you most certainly cannot force them to click certain ads and not others. You will not know which ads will bring you more income and there isn't a control anywhere which states that you will only want to fly high paying ads and not the low paying ones.

Optimizing your keywords may just bring in more relevant ads but it does not necessary mean they are higher paying and it does not necessary mean that people would be drawn to click them.

Agree ..!!

but the probablity that visitors will click the ads increases as the ads are now kinda more relevant . juz my 2cents :)

I'm in the same boat, i was getting about .01 per click, I filtered some sites and its been 3-4 days and im at about .02-.03 cents a click....
I'm gettin together different sites now...this myspace one was doing better but they must have done something recently to change it.......
oh and 300 clicks...wow thats great..

eddy2099
Nov 4th 2006, 1:38 pm
I don't click on Adsense Ads whether they are relevant or not ;) I guess I was conditioned not to click on my own adsense ads so it become second nature not to click others.

Check to see if Adsense considered some of the 300 clicks as invalid clicks.

Don't get discouraged with such a low paying click rate. You should be happy you're getting 300 clicks on a myspace site such as that. I'd try something else like banner advertising or something.

i get 800 clicks a day and sometimes i make $30 and other days I make $60 with the same amount of clicks. its dumb as well.

i wish they would have a standard click rate at like 10 cents a click for me. $80 a day would be nice

he did that with adsense but i guess he didnt waited enough for changes to take place ... though YPN is getting more money to him than adsense .
Well as you are trying the YPN .. then if it goes well , its good else as you mentioned the clickrate aint that good then i will suggest to try adsense again after filtering of MFAs take place and then compare both and decide :) :)

Nov 5th 2006, 10:41 am
Yes thanks everyone.. I will see how YPN does now for a couple of days. I might be giving Adsense a try again and filter out all the MFA sites and see if the revenue will improve.

I will keep you all updated. Thanks again, learnt alot from this thread so far :)

I think filtering ads on Myspace sites won't do much good because they all pay around the amount you are getting.

dimva
Nov 13th 2006, 3:40 am
They filter seems to have kicked in. Growing fast, yesterday ~650 clicks and revenue $25. Which i dont think is good considering 650 is alot of clicks and should generate more.. CTR is low, only like 3 %.

Any suggestion how to improve the CTR and revenue is welcome :)

I've got a MySpace site also.

A few months ago I was complaining on here about only getting like 11$ for 300 clicks.

but you've gotta think about how easy the traffic is to get, if you really hustle it hard, the sky is the limit

Yes agreed, i guess the best thing is to work hard to get more traffic.

Yeah, Google pays almost nothing to their publishers. They can do that because there's no real competition. I've tried lots and lots of ad networks and all are very low quality and pay almost nothing. Google, with their 90% cut or whatever it is, still pays the most.

The only thing that I've done that has improved my situation is to unblock the sites that I previously filtered out. Since Adsense is on an auction system where the advertiser who pays the most gets to appear the most, there is no sense in blocking out any sites at all - it can only hurt.

Well my website gets over 1,000 clicks a day and I filtered out the most mfa sites I could and my revenue is up over 25%. Thanks for the advice, if there is anything else i can do just let me know! My ctr is around 6-7%, is there any room for improvement on my myspace site?
