View Full Version : $50 Dollar Logo Content

Here we go, a $50.00 logo content.
The logo is for the site http://www.tutorialbind.com
Please note this site is not complete and still needs some work, just wanted to get the logo out of the way :)
Anyways, the logo must be transparent as the background has different colors, gradients etc. It is to set to the right of the "globe" looking thing at the top. The general colors of the site are light orange, blues and silvers.
For the logo, I am looking for something with a "zing" to it and when people look at it they say hey that is really cool.
I have attached the background image to help things along a little bit, but remember, transparency is almost a must, unless using the background image is the only option.
The logo needs to say "Tutorial Bind"
I would like it to have a look of bringing something together, or compiling of something hence the "bind" in the name.
Ok, so that is about it, and I want to see what will come out of this?
Also on a side note: I have asked alot of things and you may wonder why the payout is so cheap? Well, whoever wins the contest will be asked to do some additional work with a few banners, buttons etc.
Good luck! And the content ends when I feel I have found an appropriate winner.

Its a nice start. I do like the font. The logo needs to be more standing out though; Try to include the oranges/silvers etc in it.

Do you want us to put those 2 pictures together and put the logo on it?
drewbe121212
Nov 3rd 2006, 8:13 pm
No, I would prefer it to be a seperate image.
I have it so that the logo area is positioned with an absolute div, so movement around is no problem. Transparency is almost a definate though to mix with the fading blues/gradients.

Nice concept. I do like the way the text is, but I am not feeling the ball of yarn (though it was a good idea!!), maybe some other type of representation?
Also, though I absolutely love how the Bind gradients from a dark blue to a light, I am thinking it is not going to stand out that much since it is going to be placed on a blue background.
Colors can be easily changed though; Keep um coming :) Very impressive though, Angela

Very cool Freelance. Just as a heads up, its "Bind", not "blind" or unless that font makes it look that way. Try shading a "chrome" looking gradient (vertically) over the text and see how that comes out.
That font is crazy in that neat looking way. Why is it some of the letters tend to be gigantic while the others seem to be minimized, or was that just you? (Not saying I want it this way, just wonderin :P)

Very nice Flipz, this is getting very close to what I am looking for.
I probobly should ask this; Is it actually possible to make the text like that have a transparent background? My guess would be no (especially with the reflection effect), but let me know.
One of the goals I have for this is to make the logo have an absolute position so that I can literally "move" it. However, as much as I would like to do that; I know to well the limitations and annoyances of transparencies; so it is a goal, but one that can be easily discarded if needed. If anything, I would settle for the text split between the 2 images.
Suggestions for change in this would be to move the text so it looks like it is "sitting" on the darker blue color, increase the size of the font a few smidges,
and move the text out of the globe (and its rays)

Just as a note:
You guys(and gals) have some amazing talent. It makes me so jealous :/ I get in a fight with the photoshop programs when just trying to add some effects to lets say text.

The whole transparencie thing makes the text look really bad so I took your feedback and came up with this :)

Yeah, that is kind of what I was figuring with the transparency thing.
Looks nice, I really have no other suggestions for it because well; it looks nice haha! Its so shiny too (my favorite type of distraction).
Oh, while I am rambling I guess the only last thing I would ask is that you get a little bit of a "bend" on the text to sort of match the hill.
Mr.FlipZ
Nov 4th 2006, 10:38 am
The difference is small because a large distortion makes it look really pixalated.

AddictingToFate,
Very nice as well. You guys all have way to much talent and need to share some of it with me!!
As for the colors, they look and blend very nicely. The only thing I don't like is the solid color streak on the bottom of it. It has a beautiful gradient fading from the darker color to the lighter, then WAM its a hole new color. Its a neat effect, but not quite what I am looking for.
Can you make it fade back to the original color by the bottom of the logo or to the continued lighter color?
Try to make the silver do the same thing and we will have a looksee! :)

Yup. The only thing I notice is that the streak is still running through the top of the arrows.
If its not to much to ask, could I see an example with the gradients running vertically as well?

Wow, now this is hilarious!! If anything, you have one of the most unique designs Angela. Even if this doesn't end up being the main logo, I may have some plan for it for something else :)

Very pretty ATF :) That was exactly what I was talking about.
You all are making it very hard to choose between which ones I want to go with.
To tell you the truth I was expecting just one person's logo to stand out above everyone elses but this is getting tight. The skills are so great here!
As for the dedication, yes I know. I feel that since I am running the competition it should be frequently visited by myself. I personally cannot stand when people start things like this and they visit once every few days while leaving everyone else in the dark. Can't turn myself into a hypocrite, thats for sure!! :D:D:D
