I think SEO Guy upgraded his PHP and forgot to configure the CURL library into the make.. things do happen. Unfortunately, it really sheds a bad light on him.

yep, looks like a php upgrade issue to me. I've done the same thing 20 times. If he doesn't see it here, he'll find the problem soon enough. Or it could be that his host disabled curl and he's looking for a new home.
