Alexa bar shows blank

Hi,
Ive googled for hours looking for an resolution to my problem with alexas toolbar. I installed and reinstalled several times, tried the alexa toolbar removal tool and fiddled with the registery and ie addons. The bar still shows a blank white space where the toolbar should be.

Has anyonne else had this problem and can advise on how to fix it?

Your Anitvirus needs to exclude all Alexa folders and Alx files in your windows32 folder. This may help

This is now happening to me too after trying a new Spyware prog that google lists in its google pack listing - now even after uninstalling a) the spyware prog and b) the alexa bar + all associated registry entries, after a re-install of alexa all I get it a white empty very thin toolbar that is actually a browser window as I have managed to right click in it and load the alexa.com page in there.

Does anyone know how I can get it to work properly again please?
