spy on competitors traffic not through alexa

is there anyway to spy on your competitors traffic without using alexa?

The only think i could think of was hacking their site.. which I'm not really prepared to do.

Just out of sheer curiosity, why would you want to do this?

mostly out of curiosity. Also I would like to see how many customers we would be seeing if our ranking was as good as theirs.
