View Full Version : Namecheap is sooo much better than Godaddy

I've been with Godaddy for more than 7 years. I've finally made the switch today by registering a couple of domains with Namecheap. I can safely say now that Namecheap's interface is sooo much better than GoDaddy, it's not funny. They even allow payment via paypal!!

Godaddy was such a industry leader before. They were once the only place to register a domain. How the mighty have fallen.

Godaddy accepts paypal
I don't mind Godaddy, but I must say that with Namecheap, it's much easier to transfer domains

I use Godaddy for one of my domains and the interface definetly is complicated for many things. I'll give namecheap a try

I agree. The best part about Namecheap is that it allows payment via an unverified Paypal account. :)

Yep, Namecheap is sooooo much better than Godaddy, as they both are sooooo much expensive and lack of features and good support service in comparison to other established hosting services, I'm afraid :D

I like how namecheap doesn't try to get me to buy alot of useless crap along with my orders. Fast simply and easy :D

I really like Namecheap, they're really good in my opinion.

Namecheap is fast, no upselling, and have no stupid 60 day ruling for whois contact changes, unlike Godaddy. I agree they have a fast and easy control panel.

In Godaddy, if you tinkered around with your contact details and later want to transfer out...forget it...just playing around with your contact details will entitle your name to a 60 day lock, no questions asked...

Other registrars/resellers dont seem to have this ruling...but then again, always check and clarify first.

They were once the only place to register a domain.

No, Network Solutions was once the only place to register a domain name. Other
registrars cropped up when the domain registration industry was deregulated.

Go Daddy still grabs many people's attention due to their offers. It's a shame for
some people to learn things the hard way when using them.

GoDaddy's latest interface upgrade sucks ass big time. I asked if I could revert back to the old interface (which wasn't pretty, but it worked) and they said no that this was GoDaddy's wave of the future. I told them that Bob Parsons needs to stop making podcasts. And start paying attention to his business. For I as one will be transfering my domains elsewhere. I'm going to give Namecheap a spin and see if I could use them instead of GoCrappy.

I like how people's main praise of namecheap is they accept unverified paypal payments.

That is quite a hook to hang one's hat on. They should take out banner ads saying that.

Yes, you are right. Really, Namecheap is better then GoDaddy. I am well experienced with both GoDaddy and Namecheap.

GoDaddy's interface is not user friendly, other than that Namecheap has very ease interface. Moreover, GoDaddy's technical support is also worst, while Namecheap has very sound technicians.

I have had good experience so far with namecheap. But they are on a little expensive side comparatively if you are a big buyer of domain names.

I even heard that they are now ICANN accredited... so they should be able to give their customers a better pricing... not sure why they are not.

I prefer godaddy, the support are a bunch of cowboys but contrary to that theres nothing wrong.
I think namecheap is for the n00bs to the web.

Namecheap has a free whois guard right now...with every purchase or transfer, also their whois guard prices are one of the cheapest...

Had to add that one.

Namecheap have real humans answering their support emails

Godaddy apears to use a group of mentally retarded monkeys

Had to add that one.

Just logged into Godaddy the other day - They've updated their interface!!! It looks great but it's a little late for me. I've already registered 3 domains now at namecheap and getting quite comfy there
