I got an infraction for telling people that i have completed all current packages, and i get an infraction for bumping...

Wow, anyone else thinks that its getting a little much?

Again, another YAIT.

Why don't people just move on and not tell everyone they got an infraction?

This subject has been discussed many times on many threads, your infraction is part of that discussion, but still, here it comes, another YAIT.

because, it makes me not want to post anymore incase I somehow 'break' a rule.

Its like every 'xx' post, they give an infraction for it. I've posted twice in a row many times, but whenever a moderator feels like it, they will give an infraction.

Well then don't post.

Who cares about your infractions? I agree with iowadawg.

most of the users with a higher post count have gotten them, we just don't talk about it. It's a big forum, look at it as collateral damage ;)

3 for bumping and you haven't learned your lesson :p

Some people have to be hit upside the head a dozen times before they learn anything.

Hey, my first infraction is now over and done with...the time limit has passed.

Believe everyone, it does not matter reputation, post count, age (I mean, a senior citizen like me should get a discount, right?) or sex.
Mess up, get an infraction.

But the smart ones amongst us all do not waste time, effort and electrons starting a new thread about infractions.

I am still of the opinion that starting an infraction thread (YAIT) is perfect grounds for getting another infraction.....:D

You just waste time, effort and electrons replying to them all

killaklown, I suggest you read ysf1's sticky found in the solicitations and announcements area. It may help clear up things for you.

Everybody gets infractions, so what to do? Donnt worry much on it as this is something which is useless to discuss, Just be careful and donnt give others any chance to do the same.

"PM Sent" just isn't necessary. An infraction is a way of asking you to stop that.

No not really, if you read my post completely.

Now on the other hand, you did...LOL

Perfect. So let it be written, so let it be done. :D

OP, if you really want to get a better explanation about the infraction and how to avoid it in future, just contact the mods (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/sendmessage.php). I'm sure they will explain it to you. ;)

When I joined the forums a few years ago, my first red was a -15 hit for posting a thread in the wrong forum. I'd much rather have 1 infraction point, than -15 rep points. That kinda sucked at the time :P

"Wrong forum" :D

I got many of those. As well as a bunch "off topic"'s that AC conned me into getting.

Ya know, I thought it was the right forum too, oh well (man, am I still irked by that? seems like it..hehe).

Its the first red that sucks the worst! I was pretty mad about that (but glad I never made a YART about it). heh.

Especially since you have to see in it your CP for weeks/months. :p

That´s easy to do with you ... I doubt you ever look at the title of a thread. Do you? :)

LOL, I got 22$ for an infraction. Well worth it though.

Was I guilty? You bet. Would I do it again? You bet!

heh, i just got an infraction for letting a directory owner know the sites i submitted, because he was offering free featured links for people here. (funny, it says read the rules but there are no rules in the forum it was posted in (link sales)).

Right now, these 'infractions' (not saying i get much, i've had like 4 since i've been here, but i always get 2 within a few days, and then when the 2 expire, another 2 are added a few days later) emails are worse then spam, because i open them to see what i got an infraction for, but its always some stupid reason, which 99% of the time, shouldnt even be an infraction... At least with spam i just send them to the spam folder.

Oh, and that rule isn't in the 'Link Sales' forum, its in the Solicitations & Announcements forum.

when i was new i used to get infractions, i also opened 1 thread, but this days i,am not getting any, but in dp i dont like only 1 think, most of big members post in every thread, but when i get time if i post they give me infraction saying trying to increase post count. Only people who are onlone 24 hours or who completly live on DP by giving service can only get rep or count or .......
DP became big market guys post to promote sig links and to advertize there services, so if u try ro get your thread up , that meance u r trying to earn money, if they allow this then guys bump there threads 24 hours and dp will come down like many other forums.
