Hello

I have some files in my computer that are private and it's very important that
they stay that way. I run windows VISTA and XP, i have heard about some
systems that are fairly secure, but i'm looking for the absolute best protection
for my computer. Price is not a subject i can pay alot for good protection, what
choices do i have?

1. I need to protect few folders nothing else, also this computer is not
connected to the internet, so internet security is not important.

2. It needs to pass through goverment inspection untouched, so i really
mean heavy security.

3. Is my only choice to hire a specialist, or is there some software to
fill this gap?

I hope someone could help me out in this, i need this done ASAP! Thanks
for any replies in advance, also open to all suggestions... and NO it's not
anything illegal LOL!:p

pgp drive encryption is considered by most to be the most secure way to store info. I believe you can buy it from pgp.com. It is expensive, so it's good that price isn't a problem.

Copy all your data to a removable drive and unplug it from your computer. From online hacking you will be safe then.

I would recommend Utimaco's SafeGuard Easy.
It will encrypt your whole hard drive and will ask for authentication before the OS loads. This means that physical access will be limited, as no one would be able to bypass the OS authentication with something like ERD, and reset your password.

If you plan to connect this computer to another network, i would recommend the Lan Crypt, as it will guard specific folders.

One thing though. Dont loose your password. Ive seen this too many times.
