Yes I was probably the one posting the 90% figures... My personal theory: If noone ever votes their will be no governments anyway and we can all live in anarchy and sin.
Careful AC. Not voting and loving Bush and 2 totally different things.
Personally, I can't vote beause there is NOT a party out there with any credibility - Show me one and I'll run and vote in the next hour ;)

Anthony, you keep making the same point over and over. People aren't just voting on Blairs ties with Bush. There are much bigger domestic issues that decide elections.
Nevermind the fact that his opponent Howard would have the same outlook.
I suppose you would propose everyone vote for the Lib Dems

You mean scams (elections), I completely understand that the media has your attention on the economy (you are in a smokescreen) when you should have your focus on the major issue of the war and that is it, national security has been threatened by Blair policy.
yfs1
May 5th 2005, 8:29 am
when you should have your focus on the major issue of the war
That is your major issue. When it comes down to it people vote to protect their way of life and the most immediate show of that is their paycheck and their mortgage NOT the media.
In the privacy of the voting booth they aren't thinking of the war but instead wages, crime, schools, healthcare (a bit of a joke), employment
anthonycea
May 5th 2005, 8:32 am
Do you think sending your kids to war is not important?
Ask those who sent theirs to Iraq if money is more important.
What about the money the government has wasted in the name of Oil money  Why are oil prices at record highs, do you think that is helping your economy?
Don't tell me that is not affecting the economy, the USA is spending a Billion dollars a week on the war.
We have lost thousands of lives and cost thousands also on the other side.
PS: A vote for Blair means you approve of the Iraq war and you should say so.
GTech
May 5th 2005, 8:35 am
It's a shame Anthony's hatred for the Iraqi people's freedom blinds him to everything else.

If you guys elect Blair don't expect me to be friends with you guys
The bottom line is Bush & Cheney have ruined this nation and the UK is next in line as everything is moving to China :o
We have little hope in America, once the manufacturing capital of the world, industrial might built this country and lack of it has ruined this nation.
Even General Motors is up shit creek because of Bush and record oil prices and all manufacturing is moving to the industrial giant China.
The UK is next and your business leaders will sell you guys out as our business leaders have sold Americans out.
But you can be sure that Bush and Blair will make sure their clients (Banks & Oil companies) will be able to extort the maximum out of the population while running both nations into economic depression.

That is all bullshit and a cover for the oil and war mafia that has bankrupted this nation GTech.
We all know that when our troops leave Iraq will fall into civil war and the invasion will have got nothing done except waste Trillions of tax and war dollars that go directly into the hands of Bush friends (Halliburton).
Equipment is falling apart and the military is in shambles and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs said just yesterday that we could not fight another war at this time because no one is joining.
Get real GTech, your propaganda is failing as is Bush and Cheney's oil & war scam.
GTech
May 5th 2005, 5:51 pm
With all that Iraq oil flowing in, one might think prices would be down?
Just because you wish your country was in shambles, doesn't mean it really is.
Why do you care who is joining, or not? The only thing you do is put down our troops anyway. It's not like anyone really thinks you actually care
anthonycea
May 5th 2005, 6:01 pm
The war in Iraq has weakened this nations defense, not helped it GTech, we are not ready to defend ourselves with conventional weapons and this will lead to a quick nuclear exchange because our war readiness is not there according to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Now Google is evil and Bush is good, can't you see how warped your mind is because of Republican propaganda GTech  :p :p
Damn right, the Republican voice should be condemned in this nation, it should have been outlawed with Nixon!!!!!
Bush should have been Impeached at that moment when they stole the election in 2000 also (if they would have outlawed the Republican party when Nixon was convicted of election fraud we would have never had Bush steal the last two elections).

ยป All My Love
Should I fall out of love, my fire in the light
To chase a feather in the wind
Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight
There moves a thread that has no end.
For many hours and days that pass ever soon
the tides have caused the flame to dim
At last the arm is straight, the hand to the loom
Is this to end or just begin?
[Chorus:] All of my love, all of my love, All of my love to you. [repeat]
The cup is raised, the toast is made yet again
One voice is clear above the din
Proud Aryan one word, my will to sustain
For me, the cloth once more to spin
[Chorus]
Yours is the cloth, mine is the hand that sews time
his is the force that lies within
Ours is the fire, all the warmth we can find
He is a feather in the wind
What a fantasy for her......

Right Minstrel, the American economy is going into a depression and every time I pump gas I curse Bush and Cheney as most Americans do as they pump their gas.
I seen a story on the news about a mother that could not buy goods for her family and is having a hard time telling her kids she can't take them to school activities any longer since fuel prices are taking a large percentage of the incomes of most folks now.
Even Wal-Mart sales are down because of the same factor and GM is going broke.
minstrel
May 6th 2005, 6:38 pm
I was speaking tongue in cheek, AC. Sort of.
They really ARE trying to figure out what people want... just not necessarily you or me.
They're politicians. That's what politicians do. Try to hang on to power as the #1 priority, and popularity as #2 because that can get them to #1.
If you're still looking for evidence of principles in politicians, you need to get better drugs... you're just not gonna find it. The way I see it these days, anyone who has any real integrity loses it long before they actually get into power.
I think it's a prerequisite for attaining power.
And voters keep voting for them. And they keep falling for the quick vote-buying bribe, even though they must know by now that most of what is being promised at election time is a bare-faced lie.
anthonycea
May 6th 2005, 6:42 pm
But this could be great for your business Minstrel, imagine the folks that will need help understanding why these things are happening, why all of a sudden they are having a hard time making it and are on the verge of losing everything they have worked for and find themselves in deep debt and on the treadmill :o
Good for certain businesses like yours and others like bankruptcy lawyers :o
minstrel
May 6th 2005, 6:53 pm
Economic hardship does create a lot of distress for ordinary people, AC, but of course they don't have any money left... I do end up seeing as many as I can afford to see pro bono but I have bills to pay, too...
I don't think anyone really wins when the economy heads down the tubes...
anthonycea
May 6th 2005, 6:59 pm
The only folks that can win in a economy that is bad are those who have CASH, they can buy assets on the cheap at bankruptcy auctions and make out like bandits.
Look at those who bought real estate from the government after the savings and loan scandals here in the states when all the S & L's failed.
