The report Google's Patent: Information Retrieval Based on Historical Data (http://www.socengine.com/seo/guide/google-historical-data-patent.html) explains a Google patent that uses the age of domains, pages and links to avoid SEO practices.
This is probably what it has been refered to as "sandbox effect".
Does it mean that SEO is dead --in short-term-- for brand new sites?
