Looking to buy a name, but all the good ones have been taken. I know what words I want in the domain and have used:
http://www.deleteddomains.com for example, but am still stuck?
Know of any good sites?

What words are you targeting... or what industry? We all have extra domains laying around that we might be able to part with....

You can use GoDaddy to search for the basic word(s) and then use the advanced search to try to find a good name.

Use reputable whois and type in names and see if they are taken or not.
Sometimes when you use sites, they generate a list of what you enetered and they register those domain names.

Apart from online domain suggestion services, a great software I use is WhoIs Ultra (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/whois.htm)
It comes with a couple of suggestions that you can change manually by editing the whois.dat... i have been adding suggestions for a while now, so it fits all my needs.
I'm not sure if it is the best one around, but it works nicely for me!

Well, I know of a domain finder that you can add to your phpBB forum, but it's html so you can just copy the code out of the install file located here:

here is something I have found success with... just make up some word or combination...
It will be MUCH more rewarding when the site is a success because you will have branded yourself.
my bigest site is a huge success because of this. What is amazing is I rank #1 on all engines for a VERY competitive term and terms however I am found more by people searching for my domain....
