Just as the title states.

When does your PR change and when does google update its databases?

How long does it take to change a PR0 to PR1 or from PR0 to PR3?

Just wondering, the might be newbie questions but please bear with me.

PR cahges approximately every 3-4 months, though that's just a visible toolbar export, in reality it changes constantly.

It depends on how much link building you do.

usually every 3 months, but I don't really care about PR, since high PR doesn't always mean high traffic. Only traffic that matters to me

Then whats the next best way to get traffic.

Say I wanted my site www.fantasypc.frih.net , to be when you type in fantasy in google the first 5 results. How can I make this so?

Oh I have a lot of backlinks. About 100 or so.

I have a few real links 1 is on this site:

www.frihost.com

I really want Fantasy PC to be at the top page when you type fantasy on google that should bring lots of traffic.

Well you're not alone then ... everyone wants to have their website to be at the top page for their targetting keyword. Are the masters willing to share their secrets ? :)

it's not really a secret. you need good content, natural links from strong sites, proper on-site SEO.

and for google, a very old, trusted domain never hurts. that's putting it nicely; good luck in google without one.

It will be big struggle. You must learn everything about SEO. Make page shown on first on google with one word keyword, it almost impossible do in legal way. Make some research and try to do it for more words keyword.

'Fantasy' is a highly competitive keyword. When you search on Google, you'll see 392,000,000 results. The first site on Google is fantasysports.yahoo.com which has a Google PR 8 and has 33,900 backlinks on Google only ;)

link:http://fantasysports.yahoo.com/ (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2005-27,GGLD:en&q=link:http%3A%2F%2Ffantasysports%2Eyahoo%2Ecom%2F)

If you want to rank # 1 on Google for this keyword, you need atleast 30,000 links on Google and a PR 7 + website :o

You would do much better having a .com name - I suggest you read a lot! There are heaps of other keywords which would be applicable to your site - maybe you shoud use them. You should try google 'keyword generator' to give you some ideas. You also need more links. At the moment this forum is on a perpeual cycle, need to spread the 'fantasy love'.... lol

It says from SEOCOMPANY, the Google Main Directory update go in intervals of 3-4 months.

And the Toolbar update should be aruond December-January of 2006-2007.
