View Full Version : Recent Jump in Sales

Has anyone else noticed a recent jump in online sales lately? I can't figure out what happened (my positions in the serps has been holding steady for the past month or so) but I've been experiencing a *major* increase in sales from my online stores in the past week. Any one else notice a sales jump, or is it just lingerie season ;) ?!

Have your stats gone up in numbers of unique visitors?

And where are they coming from?

Does Froogle feature?

hehe...maybe, SEOam, who knows

My unique visitors have been steadily climbing from the beginning, but no noticable spikes recently...

My top 5 referrers are: direct request, google, google, this forum & allhot.com
But, it's been that way for quite a while...

Froogle gives me very little traffic (#12 & #18 on my referrers report)...

That is why it's such a mystery to me, everything has remained pretty constant for the past 1-2 months, but in the last week sales are up in a big way. Perhaps it's just a fluke, which is why I was wondering if anyone else has seen a jump in online sales recently.

VS, I would think that your products are seasonal. Did you go through last spring/summer? If so, did you experience a spike in sales then also? You, during the year, can get windowshoppers but no real buyers until "the season." That may explain no increase in real traffic, but an increase in buyers. I would think that you would experience the same just prior to Xmas. Maybe?

Well the last PR update was just about a week ago, but if your traffic and rankings are the same I'm not sure that can account for things. Maybe just a seasonal swing? Best of luck for continuing the good fortune!

Lingerie isn't really a seasonal thing (I generally gauge this by asking myself, "is there a real life store that carries this all year? Unlike christmas ornaments, easter candy, etc)- it just picks up a lot more on holidays for obvious reasons. It probably isn't a fluke, you're probably just in a little hotter time of the year.

Has your conversion ratio increased? Perhaps you site is just better than it was before.

Are you tracking what keywords/phrases your traffic is coming in on(webstats)? Maybe you're getting new traffic from some keywords you're not tracking yet?

Other than that, it must be the consumer confidence numbers they just released... best since 2002...

Well, sales on a few of our sites have been off a bit lately. I attribute this to a seasonal slow down in the summer months. If your sales are up, this is a good thing. Hopefully it will last more than a week for you.

This is the 1st year for my site, so I can't compare to last years figures, but I never thought lingerie was a summer-season thing...I know I buy lingerie all year round! I would expect increases for Valentines Day, Halloween (I sell costumes too) & Xmas, but summer? Since no one else seems to be seeing any unexplained sales increases, perhaps my marketing ploys are finally paying off...YAY! I still find it a bit perplexing, but I'm not complaining :D !

I agree, lingerie just doesn't seem seasonal to me. Which is why I though it was weird to get such a sudden and steady increase in sales.

...you're probably just in a little hotter time of the year.

Awww..Thanks, Schlottke. It must be my summer tan....oh wait, you were talking about my *products*...;)...(Oh, come on, I'm just kidding :D )

Yep, I keep a close eye on that...just found out I'm on the 1st page for "kill bill halloween costume (http://www.hustlerpanties.com/halloween.php)" (Hmmm, perhaps I should put the costume on my site finally...:p.)

Other than that, it must be the consumer confidence numbers they just released... best since 2002...

Ah ha, I was thinking it must be something along those lines...Thanks for the info!

Mine are up this month and last month, with this month having the most sales and last the highest turnover. However my stuff is completely non-seasonal and I like to think it's up because I've spent so much time on SEO rather than product development. Plus my new site kicks the patooty out of the old one.
