Am I the only one who doesn't like marquee tags?

I dont have anything against them. They arent usually that attractive and can look kinda amateur sometimes. Other than that, they are an easy way to add more content to a page without taking up much space.

Fine unless used in stupid way so that they take over a whole page.

Besides being annoying, it is not now, nor has it ever been a part of html. Should some browser, someday, decide not to support non-standard elements, we can all rejoice the overlong coming of its death.

I'm against almost everything that moves on a Web page without my action. It just distracts me. I mostly see marquee's used in displaying the latest news. In my opinion, it's much better to put these news on a list so i don't miss any.

I never used <marquee> tag. But they are good to display flash news. For example in a stock price site, while trading is going on, it is useful.
