I know, or have heard, that it's a great way to get some extra traffic to your site. My question though is, how can you get your links on Answers without getting banned or having your link removed?

If your link is relevant to the answer you have provided, u will not get banned.
Morever , they donot ban if u donot overuse the facility. Just stay under the radar. Use different links.
Make your links mingled with your answer and not stand out.

What I would do is google something that relates to the subject and link my website with it. All you need is a proper answer.

True.

I definitely agree with this. If you don't want to get banned from a forum make sure that you're threads and answers are related to your site and make sure that your answers to their questions do have sense. :D

Happy Link Building to your site! and Goodluck!

Thanks everyone for the input. I understand now. I was mainly confused as to if I put the link in the source or in the actual answer itself, but I think I got the idea now. Thanks again.

Yahoo answers are nofollow, but u could answer people's questions and truly help them to slove the problems. They don't delete your resource box if your answer related to question. Yahoo have good PR and Good indexing so it will make traffic for you.

First get a level 2 answering accouts to place clickable links. Then search for relevant questions. Make valueable comments in your answer and put your link.

If you've multiple sites of different niche, it would be easy for you to share the links which are quite relevant.

The main key is to be helpful and to clearly answer questions and solve specific problems. If you do this then having your link in the resource section can be beneficial to the reader as long as it is directly related to the topic.

I agree. Some niche is very hard to get related question but some niche is very easy. Remember dont make more than 20 answers by putting same link, it is risky eventhrough you answer it in proper way

Yahoo answer is definately not ink building since it is nofollow but the thread starter is talking about generating traffic.

Yahoo answers it not the only answering site on the internet - try the other sites also - a huge listing is available on the site internetexperts dot info.

I have lots of Yahoo Answers links showing up in my Google Webmaster Tools.

I'm puzzled why so many of you say that Yahoo Answers does not provide links. I find lots of links to many of my inner pages from Y/A when I check my inbound links in Google Webmaster Tools. A quick check of one inner page on GWTools a few minutes ago showed eight links to that inner page from Yahoo Answers.

Nofollow or not, these Y/A links are showing up in Google's database.

Thats the best solution you can have search for question based on your topic which is not answered and try to give a good answer and use your link as a reference.

I have a level 5 Yahoo Answers account and have probably posted at least 1,000 links along with many thousands of answers.

• Answer with helpful information.
• Be sure your link is related to the question and your answer.
• Do that and you'll never get banned. Why should you? That's what Yahoo Answers is all about — providing relevant information, including related, helpful links.

And to repeat my earlier post, yes, those Y/A links are showing up (many of them) in my Google Webmaster Tools list of inbound links.

They show up, but they don't count. So, what's the point of showing up then?

Sure it is used to provide links if they are relevant to answer the question. But sometimes your question never gets answered...

how can you say that they are not counted !!! any hard resource for your claim ;)
Well, even if i get few hundred visitors a day from yahoo answer then its Okay and will not make any harm if such links are not counted.
we always try to grab most relevant traffic.

Yahoo! Answers can ideed bring traffic to your website. It is possible to add links to your site without getting banned.

You should take care, however, that you link to your site only within questions relevant to your site and where you can provide a useful answer.

I've posted hundreds of links to my sites and have gotten a good deal of traffic from them. I've never gotten banned and currently have a Level 7 account on there. The key is simply using the advance search for finding questions related to your site you are promoting. Also, try to not include "check out the site below" in your answers unless the asker is specifically asking for a site.

Its little difficult thing. First of all you need to get level 2 points to use clickable links, Next your post must be relevant to question.

Yea, I initially used to comment without considering the conversation.. ..and just used to put my link. Then I realized the posts must be relevant to the post and also to our web site...

Answer questions that are related to your niche, make sure that you had
answered the question properly then put your link to the sources
well if the question ask for a site then you can put your link
to the body of the answer, participate in a good way don't show them ]
that you are just spamming
