No, I'm pretty sure that's been there for quite a while.

Some pages don't have them. Does that mean they have no editors? So who edits them then?

I won't state my opinion on whether this is true or not but there has long been a rather persistent rumor that the editors really are just supervisors -- the actual editing is done by a room full of monkeys with typewriters, some working on DMOZ, others on The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. The editors listed on certain pages are assigned to supervise that particular group of monkeys.

Some monkeys are well-behaved and industrious and don't need to be supervised except very occasionally and the meta-editors can take care of that. Other monkeys are prone to gossiping, slacking off, throwing food and feces at other monkeys, and the like -- generally, you'll see up to 6 or 7 editors listed in those categories, all trying desperately to control the monkeys. Their efforts are, of course, doomed, especially once the monkeys reach adolescence and start smoking pot.

Now remember: I'm not saying this is true. Could just be one of those rumors that won't go away, like the one about PR bleed.

Minstrel,

I thought you were a DMOZ editor?

No. Never was. That's just the latest rumor DMOZ started to discredit me, after the ones about my mother failed...

Minstrel,

This is not true or acceptable, you are openly writting slander about monkeys. Monkeys are intelligent creatures and would never accept to become DMOZ editor. :)

Now, gworld... I was very careful to state that I was not necessarily accepting or endorsing the rumor:

I won't state my opinion on whether this is true or not

You have a mother?

I also hear you are a monkeys uncle. But I won't say if that is true or not, it just could be another ugly rumor to discredit you.

Yes, debunked, or more accurately I did - she passed away several years ago.

Actually, most of us here have or had mothers. I can understand you being surprised to learn that, though, given your own history...
