I am optimizing a site www.drmalpani.com, its PR in Google is 4, the traffic received is excellent, it ranks very well in Google & Bing. but Yahoo.. doesn't show one keyword in the top ranking, forget top, not even in 200-300th position.
I am wondering why this is happening. Any idea why a specific search engine doesn't show up a website when other search engines are?

I just checked it out. Did you check that your 7000+ pages are indexed in google but 5000+ in yahoo. So I think for that specific keyword (which you are using to potimise for on that not indexed pages of yahoo) is not optimised. So, wait for some time to let yahoo index your whole site. Goodluck

which tool did you use? i used webconfs.com domain stats tool and it tells me yahoo has not indexed any page of drmalpani.com & no backlinks from yahoo. Its been more then 3 months like this.

Any way to speed things up? Is yahoo slower then google & msn in indexing a website?

Yahoo is not Google or vice versa, using different algorithms, so you need a different optimization for Yahoo

Why? IS Yahoo have different optimization technique to used as you optimize it in Google?

why people just compare the two SEs all the time
yahoo doesn't have to give credits to everysite googel thinks good
they are independent SEs

They have different algorithms. But i noticed that if your meta, your headings and your body has the keywords, you'll rank well for both. Better if inbound links have your keywords

That's very odd, I usually have problems ranking in google. Yahoo has always been my friend. I always use a lot of meta tags, maybe that is the reason.

The way the pages are coded is chaotic, it doesn't bother Google, but probably Yahoo spiders cannot parse the document.

Hey its ok, because bing will take over yahoo search. :)

Well, I will advice you to concentrate more on content and add as many keywords as you can at all important places, yahoo gives more importance for keyword density.

Its interesting in the title you mentioned PR. Having high PR in no way would affect your search rate from Yahoo. Its does show that Google sees some strong backlinks.

If you have submitted your site to the yahoo webmaster tools section, then yahoo already has it in the pipe line for indexing. Wait for some time and check again, I found the webconfs tool slightly deceptive, I checked a site and I know it is indexed in Google but webconfs tool showed nothing. You need to check directly in yahoo engine, I guess the query will be something like +site:domain.com.

well, u can focus mainly on Google..

bing is not so bad.. but yahoo, now u can basically forget about it.. since M$ and yahoo! will indeed share algorithms and techniques.

just my 2 cents

PR is only for Google right? Yahoo is a different SE they had their own way
on how they will boost up a certain site.. and that is my problem I have rankings
in Google but not in Yahoo. I did look for a certain guidelines on how to increase
the traffic and rankings in Yahoo.

I have found this: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/search/basics/basics-18.html

I'm doing what has been said but I guess it will need time before our site appears
on Yahoo.

even my site got first rank for few keyword in google but even top 200 in yahoo and bing. May be those who are using the yahoo service more their site got better rank in their search engine.

I think the reason is very simple, yahoo use its own search algorithm and google use its own.
