Is anybody else having difficulty geting Yahoo to index a new site. Google and MSN index my sites within a week or two. Yahoo does the front page and that's it. It's happened on two sites now, the content is original and a link from another site is provided so I can't understand what the problem is.

At least Yahoo got your main page.
Mine is the total opposite. My main page isn't listed but a couple of internal pages are listed. Go figure!

Did you submit your URL to yahoo "Submit URL" personally. If so then it will take a long time to get indexed... if not then its plain bot behaviour - be patient and you will see results soon

Try to get links to more pages not only toward the index.

If you are submitting to yahoo directory, then they will only index your main pages. If you have many links, then sub pages of your site can be listed in yahoo search result, but this doesn't mean your sub pages are indexed by yahoo.

To be indexed by yahoo for commercial sites, it's a payment service, and normally only the main pages will be accepted.

Create a blog and post, at least once a day, content related to your niche and include links to your main site.Go to Feedburner , create your feed then add it to MyYahoo. This should do the trick ;)
Also, make sure ,when you submit to directories ,that the page your site will be listed on is indexed by yahoo.

I didn't have that problem with my pages. The linking strategy within your own site is important for indexing, not only backlinks. If you have flash based menu to go to othr parts of your site Yahoo will not follow that. Create extensive map of your site with all url of your every site and put a link toward the map somewhere on your index page. Your site will be indexed properly then.
