is channels from googles good to monitor traffic

question I seen channnels on the google website is this good to monitor your traffic see how people are comming to your site.
looking to monitor my traffic a little better.
or any other tools out there to monitor traffic

Their are many site where you can monitor the traffic but i like statcounter.com and i m using it from past 2 year. Its great.
