Why is there so much racist and hatefull comment on Yahoo News - Message Boards? And why doesn't yahoo do something about it. I mean if people from out side of US read it, they are going to think that Americans are highly racist people.

You must realize that moderating a large message board can be a Herculean task.

Not only Yahoo, but many other message boards around the world are full of stuff like this.

Back in February, BBC was flooded with so many abusive messages , it had to temporarily close down a part of its message board (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2041076,00.html). It is practically not possible to moderate each and every message on such huge boards and forums.

One can find "offensive" language all over the net. It does not make sense to lose sleep over it.

Thats the impression I got at first, so you're right, a lot of people probably do think that. Personally I think they should just shut them down if they can't moderate them. They don't do anything if you report someone either.

you are right, they need to shut it down. Its not like a few hate messages, but more like 90% are hate messages.

Yahoo message boards are hilarious. Every topic (even if its about growing a tomato) turns into either:
-political rant about (insert president here)
-people trashing another race (usually n's fly around like nowhere else)
-ann coulter jokes/ted rall jokes
-libs are scum, cons are scum
-blatant spam
-picking up "chicks"

some variation of the above. Read em for the comedy. Post a stupid message to contribute to the idiocy. It's a great time waster!

The funniest ones are where the posters message is dying to be clicked. Some variation of this:

Post title: I KILLED MY MOM TODAY
post content: at a game of chess. Man she sucks.

I have no idea why yahoo keeps those things active. Pointless server use, if you ask me. Yahoo message boards (and yahoo answers) are the sum total of human stupidity 99.5% of the time.

Beginning with its attitude limiting YPN to USA publishers they are shouting out its racism.

However Yahoo is like Google, racist agains non-American, but with no inconvenient on taking worldwide people's money out.

Google is only "racist" in the terms of take money from Adult/Gambling advertisers, but hating publishers that do so

just go to yahoo news message board, just click on any of the links, they are 100s of them, just chose one.
