Newbie Trying to Use Adwords which are relative to Blog.

Hey all. Great forum i stumbled across with a lot of very knowlegable people here. I just started to integrate adwords into my website and Blog.

Heres the problem that i have seen other people in this forum have as well but cant seem to find a solution. The adwords that are appearing are not relative to the blogs content. But what is wierd is it depends on the page im at. For example. On the first page of the blog, the ads are ALWAYS relating to Ski Resorts. There is nothing that i could see on the page that even relates. At first i thought it may have something to do with the calendar. No. I deleted the calender, and still the same results. I then went to page 2. Page 2 seems to be more relative to the blog content, even still, when you click on the actuall article you want to read about, they articles that come up all relate to a BLOG, even though the initial content on the blogs page related to that product (IE- Cell phones on page 2, there is content about phones, but when you click to read more on that article, all ads then relate to Blogs)


Cant figure out for the life of me why this is happening. At first i thought that i may have to do with Google Adsense offerng content that people pay for the most relating to something on the site, meaning if someone pays more $ for Blog Advertizing, and i have something on the site relating to blogs, then that advertizer gets chosen over someone paying less for ads.

So.... anyone have thoughts at what i need to do? I can only assume that there is an ASP page somewhere that has content on it relating to that Ad. That would make the most sense. BUt damned if i could figure that out.

The adwords that are appearing are not relative to the blogs content. But what is wierd is it depends on the page im at.

Login to AdSense and use the contact link to send them an email about your problem. They will adjust the system for your site, as they have done for me on more than one occasion.

Yes, they are very helpful. It may take them up to a month or more to solve the issue but they'll do their best to get the best possbile ads showing on your site. A fix is good for you but it is also in their interest to have the most relevant ads running on your site.

The best way to receive relevant ads targeted towards the content of your blog is by making sure that your blog contains a lot of text-based content.

Thank you for the answers to my questions.... But in your answer you
suggested that i need to put more text in the content of the website
for the blog. But if you look at www.lazarusdesigns.com/news it is
literally filled with text for each blog article. I have noticed that,
on some of the the articles, when you click to READ MORE and then
taken to that particluar article, there is sometimes relevent content,
but not always. I would say 98% of the time, the ads all relate to
BLOGs. I have looked in my code, and i see that there are some links
that have Blog in the code, but very few of them. If i need to change
those links i will.

With regard to the email reply you posted, I think that you should try to paraphrase their comments next time. They aren't comfortable with people posting the contents of their emails and who knows what the consequences of such actions are.

Use lots of headlines which contain key phrases. Repeat these phrases throughout your whole blog.

Google doesn't approve blog pages as frequently due to the possibility of keyword manipulation. I find that the CTR is low for blogs anyway.
