hmm... what are the chances that Google gets permission to supervise messenger conversations...?

i´d say: 0

But they will notice if your clickers are directed by a link, and not from a search engine...

You should tell your friend that by doing this, he is hurting us all.

But they will notice if your clickers are directed by a link, and not from a search engine...

or from a another site that links to you.

That would raise a flag and eventually ban you when they check on your account.

If you're planning to do this. Don't!

People forget that Google has access to huge amounts of data. They can predict exactly what a certain type of site should be earning, the amount of clicks etc. They will quickly be able to dectect people creating fraudelent clicks in this way based on the usage statistics for that site.

In most likelihood - both. If you have a site that has Adsense on it and that's been running for a while Google should have a nice profile of how that account is doing and what should be normal for that account.

Now if you take it on a site basis. Google has millions of publishers and the data for different kinds of site. By this time they should have an extremely accurate profile of what the baseline CTR/impressions/earnings for a site should be. If your site varies extremely from that baseline they are bound to investigate.

*Please note. The above is speculation on my part. I'm taking an educated guess. Google will of course also allow for some sites being more successful/better optimized etc. The point I'm trying to make is that they have lots of data to extrapolate and make conclusions from.

I think Google's solution will be that your $ per click will drop down to eventually nothing. Advertisers will complain that they pour dollars in to ads on your site, and the clickers never go any further than the main page/never order anything/never participate.

So, if you have hundreds and hundreds of friends, and none of them will turn you in, you could probably make yourself a cool $1-$2 per day for like....maybe 2 hours work.

You'll probably lose all the friends after about a week of that crap, though.

Exactly. I'm sure Google wouldn't notice a relatively normal site that has normal traffic and link referrers and then suddenly gets tons of random traffic from IM clients

Y Do people do it when there is no use of it

why would your friend want to do that when they could just abide by adsense policy and still make money?

I thought asking to "click" was one of the basic "no-no's"...of Adsense?

Asking for "please review my links completely" is violence too!

I'll tell you never ask ur frenz to click via msngr.. if u wanna get click ask them to search in google ur site and then clikc
because i use to do that trick and once when i checked my AFS (Add free stats ) it shown me where i was gettin hits from and which advertisers did visitor click and in that i could see my IP and it shown that this guy found your URL thru messenger n clicked on add
so if AFS can track it.. Google is more smarter ;)
Neva trick like that

google has been in the business too long they are good at spotting trends and abnormalties as well as referals and other information, they will know something is up if your earnings suddenly shoot up and you have a bunch of visitors from no referal who stay on your page for 10 seconds who lcick ads...

MaxCartier
Sep 19th 2006, 5:50 am
Google can see what browser, screen res, etc, etc, etc, etc and determine if you are cheating or not. So the idea of this is...lame and you will get caught for that extra $5!

angellica2017
Sep 19th 2006, 5:54 am
Yup.... Google is almost know everything....

Sep 19th 2006, 11:26 am
Googles algo is based on complex calculations, those involving page impressions, IPs, CTR, visitors, referrers and much more. They are surely going to find out.

MaxCartier
Sep 19th 2006, 11:59 am
Anyone doing that has to be desperate, I mean for $5? LOL! You would have to be a total idiot to do that. :-D

Good try - but its fatal my friend. Seems like if you "think" of asking someone to click on your ads - (may be in your dreams) then the google cookies in your browser detecs it and reports to google. lol - So never mess with google.
