Very negligible traffic on 6 monts old site, why ?

I have a 6 months old site on fitness and have just 5 - 6 UVs per day which is very frustating, though I have submitted my site to various search engines and directories and have also done good amount of social book marking also, at times it goes upto 10 UVs max. Please help how to increase the traffic, will buying traffic be ok.

post it around on simular forums, and blogging the site works.

mostly posting it on huge forums attract people try it out.

You may have to add some meta tags and build content. Could be worth adding a social network or forum to it too.

You are not getting traffic because you didn't do your homework...

The homework was:

1. to find out your competitors.
2. do research on them: find what keywords they target, how many blacklinks to they have, what are they emphasizing on, what they site structure is.
3. develop a similar site to highest ranking competitors, stuff your site with more keywords, more long tail keywords, more internal links
4. buy some high quality links to start with, post your website all over the place, participate in niche forums, etc.
5. profit.
