rank sudden rise and fall

Is it normal for sites to rank #1 for many terms one day, then the next day plummet all of a sudden?
yesterday i had 1000+ from yahoo, today less than 70.

Yahoo has definitely been in some flux lately. They're obviously rolling out a change, so it will probably do this for at least a few days. Just hope that when it's over you're getting the 1000, not the 70 :)

yeah, my yahoo referall our way, way, WAY down over the past 3 days. So are my MSN referalls as well.

I'm taking a pretty nasty hit to my revenue because of it...
