I can see everyone is in the race to get the higher position at Google or Yahoo SERP. But i have a general complain and need to have right solution of it, the problem is that i usually do everything to get my website promoted in the right and positive manner but did not get expected response in Google but getting yahoo. I need to ask all of you that how one can promote website in order to get high ranking in yahoo results than in Google results. Is there any way to do it and get your expected results. Thanks

Well I think one thing that may come into play is backlinks. If you have allot of backlinks you may see traffic from yahoo. If you have better quality backlinks you may see more from Google. Not positive on this though.

I got lucky in a sense that I receive about 700 a month from yahoo and about 1200 from google. This happened because yahoo has a pop under box that appears when your typing in a keyword. It gives related suggestions for the keyword your typing and if your site is on that alternative suggestion page then you can score alot of yahoo traffic. So if your optimizing for yahoo it's best to try your preferred keyword in that engines search box and look at the suggested alternatives. It also pays to build links on the yahoo social network sites and other sites that are on top of their SERP's as this should help you get good results from yahoo.

Sometimes the main difference between Yahoo and Google is in terms of evaluating and analyzing the links added. For example, Yahoo picks them up and credits them as they are found but it has been seen that Google may start realizing the juice of a top link even after weeks.

yes it is correct as i have seen so far that yahoo gives me 100 links in 3 three days and google only extract 5 to 10 links.

It is real easy to get good number of links in Yahoo! as compare to Google. I have tested for so many times Google takes ages to consolidate a link however in same duration enable to generate bunch of links

I have always found that by submitting to the yahoo directory works well even though you have to pay the upfront cost, which is a bit steep if you have multiple sites

Google is far more fussy about which links count towards their SERPs than Yahoo IMO, Yahoo also gives more weight to keywords on the site than Google does too. That's what I think.

both have its own algorithm on which they work. in my experience google wait most of content, quality back link but yahoo wait most of url and allback link.

yahoo seems to give more weight to the domain age (website's age on the web) than google. new websites rank better in google than yahoo. i know some people say website's age is no factor in SERP calcualation but i am not so sure about this argument

every page with higher pr will often visited by the spider ... you can indexed by google only in an hours .. but seems this not work on yahoo

all search engines have their own algorithms. if you want to listed in google you must have to pay attention on backlinks...

going by the fact that yahoo gives more weight to domain age , which i agree! tell me that yahoo cannot follow people like google is able to do. What i mean is , if you cannot get ranked in yahoo even thought you have a good content that more people interested in your content but can't get yahoo to notice that, that is not good. Seems to me like yahoo is stuck in the web 1.0 age looking for domain age.
It also occurs to me that yahoo has short memory then google. They don't seem to have the caliber to assimilate link data, put them in a database and process over time like what google apparently does. Yahoo/bing have quite some ways to go, but they are learning from googles mistakes and soon they will be irresistible is what i think!

ye, that's it!
google prefers both the quality content and quality backlinks,
but it seems yahoo has no preference.
that is just my opinion:rolleyes:

Yahoo will reflect links faster than Google. But if you go to your google webmaster account, you will see all the links there
