Yahoo Messenger Problem

I am having a problem with my Yahoo Messenger..
I can't log-in into my account for 3 weeks now..
I dont know what had happened and I believed that its yahoo's problem
What am I going to do with this..?
I believe that my YM's password is safely kept cos nobody else uses my computer...

Any Advice please..

Yeh, could you pls tell what error you are getting?. What does it show when you enter username and password?. Does it show any error or keeps showing "singing in" for long time and ends up with nothing?

I don't think it is a Yahoo problem because I can login into my Yahoo Mesengger without any problem till now.

What version do you use? Have you try reinstall it?

From the looks of it, it appears that the yahoo messenger program at your end has got corrupt. It would be wise to follow dynashox's suggestion to completely uninstall the present program and then re-install the latest version! :)

Try getting in touch with your ISP, you might've accidentally blocked off a port that Yahoo uses :/

Its working fine for me, please use the updated version always, else you will get such messages, updated versions are always working fine.

I dun find it to be a problem with your messenger ..Did you try logging in using other ids. Try reinstalling the yahoo messenger after removing the old version from add/rrmove program option in control panel.

For check up just try logging through another computer, may be through your friends,relative computer.

If you are able to log through another computer in YM then there might be problem with your YM Port.
Your ISP may have blocked the port accidently.

Well, i didn't had any problems with yahoo messenger, so can't really tell what problem you're getting.

download its latest version from yahoo website..

Sharing exact error message helps in most of the cases, however here are few things I would recommend
a. Try to login to yahoo mail - since username / password is same - if it works on mail, it should work on msngr.
b. If it works on mail, but fails on YM, uninstall YM and reinstall latest version.
c. If reinstall doesn't help - something like port / or connection setting (check IE settings) could be a problem.
d. Use same uname / pword combo on any other box - preferably in same location as the machine you would typically use
e. Share your updates on the forum

Try the Yahoo! web messenger. If its working for you. here are the possibilities :

1. Messenger application blocked by your firewall - You would have to enable access to your messenger. You may do this by clicking on your firewall

2. Download or reinstall the Messenger. (Don't try the BETA version, it might have some bugs.)

If the web messenger ain't working as well. You would need to reset your password.

I am also a serious victum of this problem.
A friend of mine recomended me to re-install my operating system.
I done and reinstall yahoo messenger.
After that , i have never seen any problem with my yahoo's.
May be there is any kind of virus in your system.

what is the error message you receive? check for your connection or you can try re installing it. reinstalling does help in such situations.

I also have YM problem... I can't add friends for 5 months now. I don't know whats up with that and I have given up figuring out what to do... Sigh...

at time of installation problem occurs but then after it works properly..i dont have any problem..

Try to download the new version. Maybe it's not compatible with your ISP.

what error are you getting?
Have you tried to login with your Mail Account using the same account that your using to your YM?
Where you able to login successfully?
