What is the best way to gain yahoo position?

Here's a tip: KEYWORDS in your domain. Yahoo loves that. Google... not so much.

Also, build tons of backlinks ... even if no follow. For some key linkbuilding tips, try http://www.highrevenue.com

This is very true, I've noticed that Yahoo! ranks your site much higher if your keywords are in your domain.

For example, searching for "watch *TV SHOW* online" will rank pretty high in yahoo if your domain is www.watch-TV-SHOW-online.com... with Google, you won't stand a chance unless you gain backlinks and raise your PR. It's a strange and twisted world.

Just use the same SEO techniques as you do with Google. Yahoo pretty much follows in Google's footsteps...

relevant backlinks

The jury's still out on this. One thing is clear though--if your backlinks are niche-relevant, you need LESS of them

I would not worry about ranking high in yahoo. I have two sites that rank on the first page of yahoo for a very good keyword. But traffic is next to nothing from yahoo. I concern myself with ranking well in Bing and Goggle, they are the traffic suppliers and not Yahoo. Ranking well in Google for the same keyword gets me alot of traffic.

I agree, my site ranks in the top page in google and for the same keywords its in the 6 th page in yahoo and yes, i have the key words in the domain. I think Yahoo looks at a different set of credentials then google . Actually, i think yahoo does a better job ranking then google . Its not long before common folks recognize that and we will be after yahoo!!

For Yahoo, focus more on on page SEO (H1) and keywords in your domain. Also, Yahoo is more forgiving with using Web 2.0 sites for backlink support.
