It means three different sites linking to each other in an attempt to trick the search engines into thinking they are one way links.

Site A links to site B, Site B links to site C, and site C links to site A.

Google is now wise to this, so it's not worth the hassle. Better to focus on real one way links.

Is easy to get good one way links, that to do 3 way.

If you need one way, you just need to know where do you can create them, instead, in the 3 way links, you need to talk to other persons... agree in terms.. etc

as @Ant_C say: "Better to focus on real one way links"

In three way link building, three website exchange links among each other. The purpose of this type of link building is to generate extra natural links in the eyes of popular search engines.

google frowns on 3 way link exchanges, which are almost by definition designed to manipulate the google algo.

3 way links are not as good as 1 way links.

It is creating a series of websites that link to your money page. It can be done also using web 2.0 properties such as squidoo and wet paint. A much easier approach is getting links from other sites. I just came across a new free software that is now available to get thousands of free authority links. It works off of a loophole that was found. The sites it locates all use a common web script that can be easily and - believe it or not - ethically manipulated to place your link either sitewide, on the home page or on an otherwise highly visible page of the site. You can learn more about it and get it by visiting http://www.getfreeauthoritylinksnow.com. There is also a training video on posting links.
