Did you want only 1 color, the blue or are you open to new ideas? Here are my 2 entrys, let me know if you want anything changed, color, font, placement.

Do you want it to have a gloss effect ? (shiny)

- minneola24: I am open to more than just one color. I am also open to glossy as well. Feedback on your two logos. I like how you kept the same layout but the horse and elk don't work. There needs to be a rider on the horse, that is something we have to keep. Everything else is fairly flexible.

- jackieh1791: Thanks for joining, I've always liked your work. Good job on keeping the horse and rider. Who ever wins the contest must have that element. The text though looks disjointed. You must consider this logo like a patch you would wear on a uniform (that's why the old logo looks the way it does).

Thanks for the invite...I'll try to come up with something...
- blankeyecue: Look forward to your entry.

Thanks everyone for your submissions. Here is my feedback:

- minneola24: Your second design is closer. We need a rider on a fast horse (like it is racing). Other than that I am liking your layout.

- shandyisme: Not what we are looking for. Please read the feedback I gave other designers to see what we are looking for. Thank you for your entry.

- RaZzYeL: Thank you for entering. The design is okay. I do need an image of a rider on a fast horse (see jackieh1791's rider to see what I mean).

- Xavier_3D: I do like your logo, but your rider and horse need to look like they are in a race. Hope this helps.

- Anasone: I like how you added an additional layer with the text (a circle within a circle). Couple concerns. First, "Credit Union" and "Provo Postal" need to be the same font. I like the font you are using for "Provo Postal." Second concern, your rider and horse are all wrong. We need a rider and horse that are moving fast. Let me know if you have any questions.

- minneola24: Your horse and rider don't match. Your horse is jaunting, whereas, you have a jockey as a rider. Plus, the rider needs to be a cowboy (like jackieh1791's rider). I will post some background on the type of rider we are looking for.

BACKGROUND ON THE LOGO

It seems that we are struggling getting the right rider and horse for this logo. So, I thought I would give you some background on the company in order to help you design the right logo. This particular credit union used to be a bank for the mail providers (or postal service) of the city.

In the early days of the United States the mail was delivered by postal workers on horse. They were generally cowboys who would race from city to city delivering mail. Below is the original logo of the United States Postal Service. You can see that it closely resembles ours.

Here is also a youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl9_GXvNktI) that shows a futuristic movie around the postal service (it actually looks like a really good movie).

Hope this helps on exactly the type of rider and horse we are looking for in the logo. Please let me know, in the thread, if you have any questions.

- Anasone: Great rider and horse! As stated earlier, I really like the content layout! A suggestion I have is to be sure to have a full circle where the rider is. You can draw a line across the circle to give the rider ground, but the circle needs to be a full one (I also like the red in your second image).

Going to work on this today,
- a4hire: I look forward to seeing your entry. Thanks.

- MantisArt: This looks great. You have all the elements we are looking for. The only suggestion I recommend now is to try some different colors with the logo. Other than that it looks great!

Here is a try from me.
first there is a flat one, just 2 colors , white and blue might be good for printing. And another try of the same design with a gradient and more color. I imagine that you are going to redesign the web page but I stuck it on there too to see how it looks.

a4hire: I really like what you have done here, particularly with the rider and horse. I agree that your flat, two color logo would be good for printing and the other logo works better for the web. I would be curious to see the logo with additional colors like red or orange.

MantisArt: Very nice. Great job on the color. There are really no more changes I can think of. I want to wait for a few more redesigns to come in, but right now your logo is in the final consideration.

Are you saying to try it with adding the red or orange to the blue ?
Or make one that is mostly red or orange. ? I will try some other variations on this.

I would be interested in seeing both. We have had blue for so long that a little color would be nice

Hey pennytrader, that was really nice of you to give them $5 each for being runner - ups. Very few contest holders do that and you went out of your way to give a4hire and mantisart both $5, so +rep for you!
