Text Link Ads and their statistics

Hi!

I was just wondering if there are any members here that buy/have bought links from Text Link Ads before. Before I consider using them I would like to know if they offer any statistics tracking, such as how many impressions your link has receieved, how many clicks, etc. Do they track clicks and impressions per site, by date, time?

I would also like to know if once an advertiser has purchased a link from a publisher, can the advertiser then see the location of their link via Text Link Ads or do they have to rely on their own statistics in order to identify where their link is running? The same goes for publishers. Can they actually view the website before approving a link. In fact can they even see the website in their account after selling the link slot?

I can't remember the blog I was on, but they were saying that text link ads were basically dying. I would check that out.

I read somewhere that Text Link Ads are no good these days. But I am not so sure. I haven't heard of any news about them lately though.
