Hi all,
I hope everyone is well - haven't posted here really for a while, as everything went a bit T's Up with work, but glad to say things are looking bright again.. Arrrggg With lots of hard work...
I saw a post on this forum just now titled: What is "forum posting" - and how is it done? (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1378475) that truly raises some issues..
Right
First off - I will appologise in advance for the randomness of my points, but I am sure you will see what I am getting at!
Statement - I believe SEO and Google positioning is largely down to regular, unique traffic; random traffic, but from specific business areas - related to your specific site content...
I believe this to be true, because If I, one person can completely scan and watch the Internet with one basic computer using Java technology, then Google and other systems on the net, will have immense technology...
Remember! You don't just have Java these days - take a language such as LIPS (http://www.middlesex.ac.uk/eis/staff/BIS/s_bavan.asp) and things could get a whole lot more advanced!
Point 1
Has anyone ever heard of Triangulation?
Triangulation is 'a trigonometric method of determining the position of a fixed point from the angles to it from two fixed points a known distance apart' - source Google 2009 (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=define%3Atriangulation&meta=)
Cell triangulation is a method used for determining where a Mobile phone signal is coming from (but still google cannot see if signal is on move) - correct me if I am wrong, but then as far as google sees it, you are a new person in a different area - with the new IP phones, this SPAM method cannot be possible - and still it could be said that GPRS could still be used to pinpoint traffic signals, but then GPRS could be switched off...
Mobile Traffic accounts for possibly 40% of all internet traffic!
Thanks to mobile phones such as the Sony Experia, cell triangulation is still possible, so Google won't get that missing piece to their puzzle as soon as they probably hoped...
Point 2
As I said previously; languages such as LIPS make tracking internet users, all the more interesting.. LIPS is a language for implementing parallel systems - basically; allowing one to build a fairly intelligent system that has the power to specifically communicate with a central system... Pure Bot Technology!
Scary!!!
Just think of the possibilities - LIPS combined with some kind of Cell tracking system - 'is it safe... the dentist asks?' :D
I know this all sounds paranoid, but I assure you these are fair points I am making!
Point 3
Google Toolbar and other such toolbars - are google not already telling us that they analyse specific users and where they go to - could it not be said that given that the DOS command TRACERT gives one user the ability to see where a digital signal travels to get to a specific destination, that a system that uses Parallel processing would have the ability to track immense traffic!
With this all in mind; Every time a user searches Google (or any other search engine for that matter), they could see where that user visits and probably more...
So tracking unique, individual traffic shouldn't be that hard a task...
Final question?
Does Google's search engine positioning work on unique traffic, or is it just loads of backlinks that are the key factor? ....Pondering....
Over and Out!
