I would guess there is some kind of manual review involved in this process. Could take some time before it is accepted.

unless your url structure has 5 digits
you have 5 authors with profiles
you have 3 editors with profiles
forget it

correct must have 5 digits (numerical) in the url
like

There are some sites that were able to get in before these requirements

hmmm
so I could theoretically get
http://www.latestoldnews.com/
picked up by adding a feed and after I get the cron jobs to work correctly so the news is updated lol....

When I ask them to review my site, they did so, but said they were not accepting personal blog sites at this time. However, they did say they would keep my information on file in case things changed in the future. I did notice their visit in my logs and I do believe it was from a real person and not just an automated bot. The email they sent was very polite and not in a "form email" type of format.

I've seen here a link that lets you suggest news resources for google news.
I've also seen some people mention that you need X editors, authors and others..
But do some one know where can I find a credible information on what's needed
to be made before submitting as a news-source?
Doesn't google have any guidelines for that?

Is there anyone here who has been successfully able to add his/her site rss to google news?
Most of the feeds there belong to websites of brick-and-mortar newspapers..

From the sites I know that have been added in the last couple months they had to meet the guidelines I posted above.

Depends on the category you're aiming for I guess. I think I have enough credibility to be places at news.google.com's headlines.
Question is, How? Anyone knows of any guidelines? anyone done it in the past?

If you have several writers on your topic you might be right. However, the folks who wrote back to me, from Google, made it clear that they don't add individual sites or blogs to "news.google.com" at this time, but said things might change in the future. They did say that they would add my suggested site to a list of sites which would be considered if the rules change down the road.

So, if I understand correctly, all I can do now is suggest my site as a credible news resource and wait for a change in the future?
How about what people said here about URL structure and authors/editors?
Is that some thing based on assumptions? Is it written some where?

Hi

What you say about third party news service!

Hi,
I think that it also depends on the popularity of the blog. Google Blogoscoped by Philipp is also on Google News.
I cannot post a link because I don't have the privilege yet, but you can search for Google related news at Google News for verification.
As far as I know, the blog is written by Philipp alone.

Was wondering if I can add to G news. Mine is a technology site with some decent amount of content and I've seen another similar site syndicate through G news.
I thought I can also give it a try and tried submitting to it. But the info that G is asking for is very very different. It is asking for news source, location from where the news is published etc.,
Doesn't make sense for me to push a tech website into G news. My conscience does not accept it. So I gave up finally.

Do you actually have a news site that's eligible? I gather you need more than 1 person working on it, a fair bit of content, and story urls that are expressed as numbers rather than titles. For example:
http://www.example.com/456/ or http://www.example.com/story.php?id=456
and not http://www.example.com/my_story_title.php

For me those news is essentailly some articles written by myself. Of course, I can have link like http://www.example.com/story.php?id=456. It is not difficult to do that using php
Do you have any idea on how to submit news to google news? Thanks!

My day job's site has been showing up in Google News for the last year. To the best of my knowledge, we haven't formally applied to get into it.
Our items showed rather quickly in the search, usually within an hour to posting. We get a little bit of traffic, nothing significant seeing that our sector is very niche.

How can I include my news site to google? What are the requirements, is there a place to submit it or they do the crawling?

They tend to make that decision internally.
The basic criteria "seems" to be that you need to be a legit, decent sized news organisation with a reguarly updated front page of news content.
