$40 logo design

Hi everyone...I have a contest that is near and dear to my heart...because its for me! I am going to be doing a redesign of my website very shortly, but I feel I need a logo to start with. My website is o-w-n-t-h-a-t-h-o-m-e.-c-a and my business is mortgage services. (I arrange some graphic items for others on the side, thats why I am on dp).

Now...its my turn for a logo. You will be dealing with me directly so I can provide feedback quickly and very accurately on the designs I see. I am looking for a vector logo, I want it to look like something that a financial or real estate professional would have.

The design needs to be clean and simple, but creative and create a feeling of professionalism. Sometimes I think "simple" is the hardest thing to do, and I realize that, and thats why I trust in the abilities of all you talented designers on here.

Colour scheme...its tough for me to say, you can use your discretion and if I like the logo but not the colours I can let you know. Generally speaking, I am not looking for "bold and bright", I am looking more for softer colours. It should be reversible (look good in black on a white background or in white on a black background), and it needs to be vector.

Beyond that, feel free to use your creativity.

I have not built my reputation as high as other contest holders on here as of yet, but I do have a good reputation with a 100% rating. I do my best to pay quickly, and everyone I have dealt with on here would say I do as I say I will do.

I intend on holding this contest for 3 days, but may be extended if I am unsatisfied with the entries. I would prefer that all entries are posted in the contest thread.

Hi Zyundtel, thanks for entering this contest, its good to see you on here again also.

jnjnnino-I quite like this logo, it could definitely be under consideration. However if you could find some creative way to fit a logo mark into the font or modify the type in some way to make it fit with a home purchase theme, I would like that also. Also, on another note, I saw your portfolio...I quite liked what I saw with regards to your websites. Do you do wordpress themes?

EQ2730-I do not believe your design will be a candidate. The idea is pretty original though. Feel free to try another design though if you wish.

rizzolution-thank you for your entries. I am sorry but its just not what I am looking for.

zyndtel-I like this design, but my only concern would be that it might not be obvious to everyone that the O is an O, and one thing I cannot have would be people mistaking my web address from the logo I put on promotional materials. If you can find some way to work with that, then I would welcome to revision.

jnjnnino-I will keep your original design in consideration, I think it is the stronger one.

Lazlow-I like the first one in particular, it stands out well. Can I see it on a black or coloured background also?

Mantis-Its not what I am looking for at all, I need a clean simple modern style.

Hazrd-I really like this design, can you please try showing it in colours also, and can you also show it in a coloured or black background?

Lazlow-good changes, I like that the h is no longer part of the house and is more balanced. The only thing I don't understand is the crooked ca at the end.

Rice-the window for the o is quite creative, but I think it is too bold...think more refined, simple, clean, I am not a big fan of 2 tone colours or lettering.

Hazrd-They look good, but can you get rid of the two toned colour between the top half and the bottom half of the letters? The "that" being a different colour is fine as is the house, but I just don't like the split colours.

The thing inside the house is supposed to be a signature logo, it's "Y" for yours. :)
