Be careful of Ebay's crazy terms (http://developer.ebay.com/devprogram/membership/TermsConditions.asp) however.

Basically allowing affiliates access to an underlying API for making programatic queries for pulling up auction info.

Also to note, they are going to be upping the commission (or maybe lowering the tiers) at the same time, which will be cool for any eBay affiliate (regardless if you are going to use the API).

Adding this would mean hiring a programmer like you to set it up Shawn, just another bunch of chips on your side of the table.

I need to get one of those artificial M$ strap on brains :D

I think the API could really become an excellent tool, I may start promoting if it gets easier ;)

The costs scare me though. I am used to programming with Amazon Web Services which is completely free. With all this Pay-Pay-Pay for the use that Ebay is doing, one has to have a pretty formalized plan before going ahead with it.
