How often they are changing sorting order, because in most categories I see very-very old values of PR is used for sorting and PR4 sites can be placed before PR7 sites!!!

I don't remember when it changed last time but it was ordered by PR correctly and now it's so old that it's better to say it's randomly ordered ;)

it takes a very, very long time for them to update it as far as I can tell.

our PR in there is 3 to 4 months old at least.

I agree, it's almost comical. The Surf Fishing Forums (http://www.stripersonline.com/ubb547/ultimatebb.php) on our website have a PR of 6 - yet the Google Directory shows zero PR :) The interesting thing is, when Google added those forums to it's directory, they were already PR 5...weird.

Exactly, how are you measuring the PR? Is it with the toolbar? Are these results before or after the latest Google update?

I'm very interested in this issue.

have you looked at the directory?

http://directory.google.com/

click on a category. it'll have a green PR display by every site.
