Depends on how often they update, I noticed a change in Google Directory about 2-3 weeks after the dmoz change... but thats not alot to go on

Yeah. That's the sole remaining reason for anyone at all to give a damn about DMOZ.

I think you will find this takes a really long time (with the exception of Google) as most people pull down the feed the rarely (if ever) update it.

Google doesn't update very regularly either. They have been slowly down their updates over the past couple of years, leading some to speculate that the DMOZ feeds will eventually be dropped. I think that since 2004 the updates have been approximately quarterly but don't quote me on it -- like everything else, Google does it when they feel like doing it.

DMOZ is not your friend but your worst enemy.

Now, now... that's a bit harsh... there ARE a few worst enemies:

herpes
Montezuma's Revenge
hiccups that won't go away on a first date
a cramp in your driving foot while you're on the highway
splashing toothpaste in your eye
the dentist
the proctologist
blind dates
paper cuts
and a few others
