Google Directory

Hi all,

Anyone have any idea what the deal is when there is a site listed in the G directory at the bottom of the page, when the site has PR, but does not have it indicated on the directory page. For example see this (http://directory.google.com/Top/Business/Financial_Services/Banking_Services/Banks_and_Institutions/Regional/North_America/United_States/California/?il=1). Look at the bottom of the page.

the directory isnt a top priority of google- a lot of links are like this.

yeah, the directory is always way, way behind.

forget about it for a few months and come back to it :)

It was updated at the beginning of last month for the first time since January. And I suspect that they used an old feed from DMOZ to do it.

perhaps new listings were added, but it wasn't updated completely. our PR in the directory still shows as a 3, and that's at least 6 months old (we're a 5/6 now).

From what I can gather, the Google Directory recently DID get an update from ODP/dmoz that was less than a month old - note that a PR/BL update is currently going on, so I'd check back in a day or so when things are stable and maybe you'll see what you are looking for.

Yeah... it's about 2 weeks old at this point.

Wow Some very old threads. Just read alot of threads from this forum that's very old. VERY VERY OLD.

But good information on directories might I add!
