I'd definitely be adding a logo to the header, would make it look much better IMO. However I like the fact that you haven't gone overboard with your forum areas. When starting a forum it's a great idea to start small so that there's a good amount of topics in each area rather than having 20 sections with only a few posts in each. Nice work and I wish you all the best with it.
