is there a way i can check whether a domain has been deleted before or not?

I just register a domain name that i think it is very hard to believe still available :) and i want to find out whether the domain has been deleted or just no one think about it?

Check the whois of the domain to see more details, it should tell you how many times the domain was registered and deleted!. (whois.sc)

1) You can check www.archive.org to see if site existed there in the past.

2) if you do a WHOIS at www.whois.sc you will see a line like this:
Whois History: 47 records have been archived since 2003-04-14.

I guess the domain i thought is a good one (scriptsarena.com) has been registered before :) anyway glad i have it now.
