Well, Google takes a longer amount of time to rank well than Yahoo, and MSN do... They also use different algorithms to rank sites well, so even though your site ranks well in Google, it may not rank as well in Yahoo, or MSN.

for first 2-3 months after you install google analytics, it is also possible that google analytics do not read yahoo and msn bots as their correct name. it happened to me once..
So, wait 2-3 months.. if still no show. use yahoo siteexplorer to authenticate site and use msn live webmasters to authenticate your site. it's very easy process and your site got indexed faster than ever.
try to use yahoo site explorer because it will actually help you to track incoming links, so that you can monitor your linkage.
Normally, my traffic is
google, yahoo, msn, ask in that order, so wait 2-3 months if u just installed google analytics, if it's more than 2-3 months, u need to get SEO part done effectively.
Remember, regarding SEO, it's easier to said than done, experience yourself or hire professional who can make real impact.

I bet to differ.. yahoo gives heaps of traffic, especially from asia countries. they still stick to yahoo because yahoo got a big chunk of email addresses and many members are still using it, once they use yahoo email, they still love to search in yahoo as well..
do not discount yahoo and LIVE MSN, because they bring pretty much good traffic to you.. even ask.com, I got hundreds of organic visitors that is actually very good..
I count any source of traffic is valuable as long as they keep track of our sites at no charge and people can still visit...

I ran into the same problem, but I was getting traffic from Yahoo and not Google. I read some articles I found on the net about optimizing your website for search engines and within a month I began getting traffic from Google that more than doubled my traffic from Yahoo.

well, google search is always more, look at the google empire.. but remember, no offense, but to say it easy, noobs still use msn live and yahoo, they are more prone to clicking ads vs links, graphical ads, also easy to provide information.. there is a good niche..
if you write a blog post about how to operate your xp control panel, you will notice you will get good traffic from yahoo and msn.. sometimes, we all forget that there are raw market who are still new to computer and internet.
Look at how this lady makes thousands of income every month.. she provides fantastic but very basic facts. check here (http://www.2createawebsite.com/).. for her site, her name is Lisa., I have never received heaps of comments on a single entry, hence this (http://blog.2createawebsite.com/get-your-own-blog/). Massive visitors for just simple information. I always admire her because simple is money these days.. DP forums is different market, but yea, there are whole billions of people who uses yahoo and msn LIVE for simple searches.

My Google search engine traffic is always no.1 and Yahoo always no. 2
Even rite now Google is ranked no.1 in the world.
Yahoo's no.1 supremacy has dropped to no. 2
Not surprising as Google provides better services than Yahoo in almost every department.

There is something fishy there. I get 25% of my total traffic from Yahoo.

I think actually the problem is in Yahoo itself, now a days very few people are using Yahoo for searching, so i think thats what the reason why yahoo never send traffic to our blogs, I have a blog TheChetan.com (http://www.TheChetan.com/) , having 20% traffic from Yahoo+MSN combined and almost all other traffic is from Google !! :)

I have to agree with you here. Especially about yahoo traffic. A LOT of people have yahoo as their homepage, which means that they will usually use yahoo for their searches. Also, many people have the yahoo toolbar installed, which also means if they search through that, then

Exactly.. sometimes, we all focus too much on google.. and all I am trying to say is we should at least focus on big 3 in SE world..
Like DP has lowest conversion on my sites for referrals or signups, but some forums would convert whole lot better. coz here, everyone is IT literate and competitive.. same as google to other search engines..
people use google, but still yahoo and msn live brings alot as well
I sometimes use them too.. earning is based on learning, if we do not keep in touch with yahoo or other search engines, we may never know what's going on with them, some people just make good money with yahoo search for some niches.
I have to agree with you here. Especially about yahoo traffic. A LOT of people have yahoo as their homepage, which means that they will usually use yahoo for their searches. Also, many people have the yahoo toolbar installed, which also means if they search through that, then they are searching through yahoo. I have always got alot of traffic from yahoo PPC.

My experience has been different. Last month Yahoo search sent my website over 17,000 unique visitors.

My experience has been that Yahoo tends to be geared to the older crowd while the younger ones like Google better. I have noticed this particularly with my real estate sites. For some reason I receive more traffic from Yahoo, but my other sites do better with Google. So in short:
Old=Yahoo
New=Google
This makes sense if you think about it because Yahoo was around first and a lot of people still have their emails with them. People tend to stay with what their comfortable with.

just because you have a yahoo email does not exactly mean you will use yahoo search, you can buy a Chevy car and still get it fixed at a Ford dealership
... maybe your reading too much into this and should make good use of your google traffic

That is correct, Yahoo! is the default search engine in a lot of Asian countries, especially Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
This is due to 2 major reasons:
1. Asians know the founder of Yahoo! is of Asian origin.
2. Asians like lots of information packed in the home page.
This is more of a cultural/genetic issue than a technical issue, the same reason Asians like to serve all their dishes on a huge table at the same time at dinner, instead of one by one like Europeans.
Asian portals are flooded with content and links, check out qq.com and sina.com.cn for example.
Although having a clean interface increases efficiency, Asians subconsciously regard that as incomplete, because Asians are genetically wired to process everything at a single instance, while Europeans are genetically wired to process a single task with everything. It all had something to do with how our ancestors lived in the wilderness thousands of years ago.
After spending years dealing with the Asia market you'd discover the following:
The Chinese - They like things crowded, they are all about "face", make things look big, busy and packed with stuff and you are good to go. They will only read 1% of it but you have to put the other 99% together.
The Japanese - They like things in steps, they are obsessed with details and accuracy, they are robot like, they like procedures, they are the Asian version of Germans, the steps, the accuracy and detailed explanations is how they judge your quality, they won't read it, but you have to have detail technical explanation on everything.
The Koreans - They like things color intensive, everything must be colorful and flashy, if things don't look colorful, shiny and animated you've already failed. They are super color sensitive, you need skilled designers to impress Koreans.
The point is never assume any single cultural preference as an universal constant, know your market, know who you're dealing with, Google may be more advance in terms of technology but Yahoo! still owns #1 spot in terms of default SE when you look at the big picture (Asia market > Western market).
Traffics from my Asian sites are 60% from Yahoo! and 30% from Google.
