Landing Page Contest $100.00

MyDayRegistry.com is running a contest for a new Landing Page. The winner will receive a cash prize of $100.00 payable by PayPal or any other reasonable method the winner requests and be invited to create similar landing pages for different occasions.

The Landing Page is for targeted “Gift Buying” traffic, So the first impression is extremely important.

The Rules are fairly simple;

1. The Landing Page must have a black background.
2. The Landing Page must use our existing header and navigation bar
3. Must include a search bar for (Day, Month, Year, State)
4. You are permitted to use the existing content from our example pages. If you feel that you have a better way to convey our message please feel free to do so.
5. Must contain at least 1 banner of your own design and choice that conveys the theme of the landing page.
(Ex. Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday, Hard to Buy For, Etc.)

I've had a few PM's regarding whether or not the prize includes coding or not?

The landing page does not require coding, but I am willing to throw in an additional $30.00 if you can also provide a .cfm or .html document with an external .CSS stlyle sheet.

In the spirit of some great designs and good old fashioned fun, I’d like to create a mini contest within this contest. The first 5 designers to submit their work will compete with each other for an additional $20.00 prize and your work will still be considered for the grand prize. That brings the potential prize value of the contest up to $150.00.

Hi, I'm very interested in working on this contest. I happen to be a little confused though. I'm not sure what you want changed, from what I understand you want us to keep your header and navigation and background color. So all thats left is to design an optin box and a banner? Please if you could give me some more information that would be great.

Sorry about the confusion. Basically you hit the nail on the head. Just a layout with a nice banner and a good pre-sale that gets the message across. The whole point of the page is to get someone interested in doing a search to see if their day is available.

Basically everything below the nav bar is your working area. I'm really open to anything. If I could describe what i'm looking for in one word it would be "Classy".

Winterrose_Black- I love the design of the banner, but you did not follow the guidelines. We are looking for someone to completely redesign the layout. You used the same layout that we currently have, except you replaced the banner.

o okey.. i was bit confused of the requirement.. so made a try.. so you want the entire page with a different design except the side navigation bars and header right??? if so i will give you a revised layout.. but i need the exact dimension of the layout so that it would be easy for me..

Np. The maximum width is 968px which is slightly larger than the current header. The height can be as short or long as needed to convert the visitor into a paying customer :)

I may be using improper nomenclature, but when i refer to header I mean;

Header = Logo + Navigation bar (Home, About Us, Etc.)

sorry.. 1 more doubt.. just wanted to be more clear.. how about the side block .. ie the Customize Your Profile and package block that is in the left side.. should this be changed or kept as it is??? And do i need to add the paragraph on " Gift Buying " with my own words???

Yeah that needs to be redesigned also. Basically everything below the Header is your Playground :)

Ohh. the "Gift Buying" is just the type of customers that will be landing on the page. The themes are Anniversary, Wedding, Hard to Buy for, etc. You only need to design one theme. the winner of the contest will be invited to redesign the rest of the themes. So I guess you could say this contest is a paid job interview lol.

Winterrose_black - I like your entry, especially how you did the background. I think if you put everything in some sort of container and worked alittle bit more on the search area your entry will have a better chance.

Winterrose_Black - Sorry for the delay. The landing page look alot better, but the entry by Jaszczompinho is currently on the top of my list. I would try going another route with your entry. As soon there are 2 more entries I will post the winning idea for the speedy entry portion of the contest and then the real contest will begin.

Yugo - We're looking for a complete redesign of the page below the navagation bar. The presale needs to be towards the top. Remember this page is the first impression customers are going to get of the site, so it needs to inform, impress and convince the user to make a search for thier day.

I have now received 5 entries and would like to congratulate the winner of the *first* part of the contest.
