Can someone please guide me in the best direction to get quality backlinks that google loves! Any input would be GREAT!

Well if you want to follow the crowd with mediocre backlinks you can build your links on forums, blog comments, articles directories, and social networking sites.

But if you focus on high PR backlinks with anchor text of long tail keywords, you will see some nice targeted traffic from your ranking in the SERPs. I build one way backlinks that have strong pr value and these sites have been around for a while. Check my sig for more info.
