Until a certain someone pulls his finger out and does something about these problems this will continue. I think it's something most people on DP have come to just accept now, and no matter how many of these threads are created it probably isn't going to be sorted any time soon..

No one including me really has no idea what the host is capable of and why it has to be set on this one for DDos protections etc.
Just let shawn handle it

For an $80,000 dollar server, you'd expect better performance; I guess DP gets too much traffic.

Totalling 40 Xeon processor cores, 120GB RAM and 2.9TB of 15k rpm drive spaceThis server has 40 PROCCESSORS my quad core only has 4 and my dual core only 2. This is a beast of a server. :D Also forgot to add, it has 120GB of RAM, my computer and quad core have 6 all together.

Hey dude, thanks for the info!
By accident i came accross your site (echo-unlimited.com)
I was looking for VPS servers, i found: WiredTree.com
When i find a good hostingprovider, i always check for reviews..
And i found this:
WiredTree supreme to all! (Excellent)
- by Jonathan (echo-unlimited.com) on 20 June 2008
I've been with WiredTree for over 6 months now, and they have just been amazing to me! They have given me the ability and mobility to do stuff I could never do before, as they take all that heart wrenching job out the way and allow you some free time... read more ...
Dude, tell me more! I'm going to switch to wiredtree maybe :D

For some reason I have to always check "remember me" for my log in to succeed. I'm sure this isn't a cookie retaining problem at my end, as I have no problems with any other site.

DP does seem to have loading problem at some point of time...everyday. :(
Perhaps the traffic has increased too much or server handling the same has become inefficient....

I am living in the western part of Washington state, and I am running on fiber optics. Yet, sometimes pages can take up to 30 seconds to load. I experience slow loading on the site quite frequently, but usually it does not exceed 6-8 seconds. Although, I am guessing it's due to the high volume of traffic. Or, the server location. Or, something else entirely.
