$30 Logo contest for a scrap metal website

Hi,

I’m looking for a logo for ScrapMetalPrices.net

The website will be: ScrapMetalPrices.net
The slogan is: Scrap Metal Prices and Scrap Metal Information Centre
Prize: $30 paid to the winner via Paypal
Contest End Date: Tuesday 16th March 9:00 PM GMT

I'd like the logo to look classy and professional but modern, fashionable, trendy and cutting edge - it must also be fresh.
I do want to be able to read the name very easily (letters must be clear.)
I’m not sure about emblems but it would be nice to see some logos with these built in as well.

At this stage I’m open to all ideas.
Detailed feedback will be given for all entries and the thread will be updated with tips and ideas on a regular basis.
Please post entries on this thread and not via PM!

Aderain - That is interesting. Could i see the whole logo in the lettering you did with scrap. The emblem isn't working for me. Still it's a very interesting design

Qw3rtty – Thanks for the entry – but I feel it’s more suited to a media site – not a financial site that discusses scrap metal and commodity prices.

Thanks for the entries so far.
Here’s some feedback:

Xual – It’s nice and simple and the colours are good. But I’m afraid it’s just a bit too simple.
Oakley56fila – Thanks for the various designs – the most interesting one is the 3rd design down – but it needs a little bit more.
V06-TECH – Sorry but the designs are not what I’m looking for. I see what you’re trying to do – but it just won’t work with the site I’m building. Still I like the emblem on the last one.
Anarki – I’m afraid it’s just a bit too simple.
Jokomamamita – Thanks for the entry – sadly it’s not the sort of thing I’m looking for.
Renderwork – Very nice design. Is tit possible to do something with the colours though as they look a bit dull – maybe shine them up a bit. It would also be interesting to see the domain name in one line.

Anjum sheikh – thanks for the entry but it’s not what I’m after. I’m looking for a clean design that’s clear.
Watari – I like the top entry. It’s clean and clear – not sure where else it can go at this moment in time.
Oakley56fila – The top one again looks good – again I’m not sure what can be done to take it to the next level.
Aderain – Nice use of colours – I’m not sure about the dragonfly though.
Ankur0412 – Thanks for making the changes, sadly the direction you’re going in is not what I’m after.
Renderwork – I like it. It’s pretty neat and clean looking.
Xual – Thanks for the entry, but it’s not the sort of thing I’m after.
A-Q – That’s pretty nice – It’s clear and professional looking – I’m not sure about the emblem though.

Okay Guys – some more feedback.

Gorgon – That’s great – the top one has great colours and is definitely in the top 3.
Hipstick – That’s pretty clever what you’ve done with the P’s – but the overall design doesn’t work for me.
MantisArt – It’s clean and professional looking – I like it – it’s in the top group. Not sure about the emblem though.
Anjum_shaikh – Thanks for the entry – but it’s not sharp enough for what I’m trying to achieve.
Dimitri123 – Nice use of colours – sadly it’s just outside the top group.
Anarki – very creative design – it’s not what I’m really looking for though.
Hipstich – thanks for the 2nd entry – sorry to say – it’s not what I’m looking for.
