Hi all ,
Am looking for a "Sexy Girl" character (not p0rn!) to use on my site - www.goalpost.tv (http://www.goalpost.tv)
I see the character similar to the boxing half time girl and could hold a "blank sheet" above her head ( later replaced with logos of football teams or similar)
Also a great idea here - http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumbimg_240/1203597975zT3392.jpg
Please post your ideas.. Am not sure if im asking too much?? My budget just very low!
Thanks in advance!!

I will be posting an entry, no offense but a lot of these look terrible proportionally. This Site (http://www.posemaniacs.com/) helps quite a bit when it comes to drawing something that looks real.

These are cartoon images not life studies. I don't think any of them look disproportionate and simply saying "no offense" in front of something does not mean you avoid causing offense. Everyone has their own unique style and way of doing things mine for example draws from my love of anime and manga in which proportions are different from that of a still life sketch for example.
Needless to say, the proportions are not wrong, I think everyone has put in a great entry for this contest and for $25 there is some really neat stuff here. It's simply not polite to slate people's work in a contest you intend to enter yourself. It's like saying "This work sucks, mine is awesome, pick me!".
I'm going off on a bit of a rant here, but I wanted to stick up a bit not just for myself but everyone in this thread who puts the effort in, and doesn't go around slamming other contestants designs.

I guess I have to back up a bit and start at the top. Yes you are right these are cartoon images, I just personally think that they don't look believable at all. I do say no offense but when something offends me I don't really care if I am being to blunt. I hope that somehow the CH knows that I speak the truth. I understand and agree with you that everyone has their own style. But I have known many wannabe mangaka people who think they can study anime and manga and that will make them a better artist. All mangaka have studied life drawing before to make things 'proportionally' believable. I wont get more into it on your next point.
The one that really just makes me angry is when you say for $25 dollars this is great work. No, that is lazy and unprofessional. Price should never impact quality or that makes you look terrible as a designer. And to prove my point and I guess an apology to those offended by my opinion, I will not enter this contest.

I don't want to get into arguments here and spam up this thread so I'm going to drop this. What I will say though is don't withdraw from this contest on my account. I'm sure the CH would like to see everyone's entries to make a balanced decision and I too would like to see what you come up with. In fact, it should be something along the lines of you showing us how it's done. In this case, pictures speak louder than words.

@shawn: I notice you removed the post about "working privately with the CH", although I'm not sure why. I don't normally get involved in these types of arguments but to be honest, the way a complete newcomer to these forums like yourself with 0 iTrader just appears in a thread and insults people's work is the thing that in my opinion is "not very professional". That just reflects badly on you.
All the work I have seen from Sorukayde on these forums has obviously had effort put into it, and feedback is always received well. The simple truth is that you don't get 27 iTraders that are all positive by not being professional.
I think I've said enough but just couldn't refrain from adding my 2 cents after seeing your self-indulgent posts. May I suggest a little less arrogance and comments where they aren't needed and just do some work instead?
Shawn Ross

To your last point that is why I removed my post, And please never use Sorukayde as an example of professionalism again. I wont say why but I just really think that is the worst example.
I am done with this argument, I just get peeved when quality is dictated by price.

I don't really care what you think, Sorukayde has done nothing wrong whatsoever and never lets quality be dictated by price. I don't think that was the intention behind the post at all. Plus as I said, 27 iTraders already speaks for professionalism. You are just plain acting like a child. Show me the credentials that clarify you are superior to everyone else and maybe... just maybe, your attitude would be justified. And no, that doesn't include being in your second year of design school. Do they have a class on how to behave around your fellow designers or was that an elective you skipped?
"Oh, I'm a professional designer and I'm better than everybody else so I will go around and insult people to prove it". Get a grip.

Oh now I get why you think you have to defend Soru, You share a portfolio.
I say that I get mad when quality dictates price because Soru said it plain and simple. I never say I am superior to anyone, but I can draw. That is what started my point, maybe in my extremely blunt way it would help. Oh and the only reason I have a problem with Soru on the professionalism front is she steals. Good thing she never got paid for the stolen work or there would have been legal problems eh.
Just because I am in school doesn't mean I have no idea what I am doing. I actually am only in school because I want a raise at work.
But you are right I acted like a child, and I need to get a grip.

The reason I was defending Sorukayde is simply because I don't like it when people randomly insult other people's work. Even if you meant well, there are better ways of helping people than commenting on what you think in a contest thread that people are working hard on. I also never said that you didn't know what you are doing because you are in school, I simply felt that you were acting as if you were somehow better than everyone else because you think you are more talented, and I don't like that. I really feel bad about hijacking this contest thread with this argument and I certainly never intended to get into a big debate, but there are still a couple of things that need clearing up:
1) What Sorukayde meant by the price comment was that it is good that there are people submitting good work and putting effort in for the contest even though the budget is low, not at all that quality is dictated by price. It is often hard to find people willing to enter contests with a low prize, that's all, so you shouldn't insult the drawing ability of those that do.
2) Sorukayde never steals. The item you are referring to is obviously when you sent an unsolicited PM regarding something that had nothing to do with you. Sorukayde created that particular image from scratch in Illustrator basing it on what the client wanted, which cannot be defined as stealing in any sense. Derivative work maybe, but not copyright infringement.
Anyway, I hope the contest can resume now, and my apologies to anyone (especially the CH) that has had to wade through all this rubbish to see the entries.

I do apologize for insulting your GF, not cool. I did mean well but whatever. I guess with your first point you are right I have no business in a thread with such a low prize and hijacking a contest to work privately with the CH. I just get so tired of people who think because they have a pirate adobe suite and a wacom that they can draw. Not saying that is either of you I just usually associate crap manga style with it. Again being to blunt.
The second point, there is no need to argue on because if she did get paid it would have been theft. The lines matched to a T the only difference was text and a clipping mask.
Now I really don't want to continue this I feel like I am 13 and fighting with the mighty intranet again. You both think what you think I will think what I think and we will all keep it to ourselves.

You are right I did make a small mistake on her, I feel like a jackass. But come one you have to admit she looks hot huh.
Ugh now I can't look at her without thinking I messed up but she looks 'fine' now. My wife is nagging me to quit acting like im 13 but I am having so much fun.
And you know what Thank You L3fty, it is these jabs at the ol ego that help us improve. Most CH's don't know there ass from there elbow on our side and I like the help. But sadly I have to drop this one, and get back to work on stuff I haven't gotten paid for yet.
Im pullin aggro ya know? heh

Indeed, but I'm just wondering why he is not subject to the same rules of the competition as we were? What happened to a mascot that suits the website? What happened to having the board above her head?
TBH I thought Plugzz was going to win this one. No matter, it's the CH's call I guess. Congratulations to Shawn Ross.
Good luck to everyone else for their next competition!

Hey dude.. wasnt being unfair and dont want it to look that way.
It was just with conversation with Shawn that the board ended up where it is..
I do agree that the contest should be kept within the thread and in future ill stick to that.. Shawn however had contacted me via PM with example ( as others did..) and I went with that..
At the end of the day i needed a result and liked what he had to offer.. But i am not a messer ( as you will see from itraders etc ) and so will be back soon with work for you guys hopefully!
